Early leavers and final whistle on Sunday

It’s all logistics

You cannot get out of the back rows of the east stand for f***ing ages after the final whistle

I hate it
I’m row 35 south stand. Most of those making a move early say 5 minutes are from around us and behind.
We always go 1-2 minutes from extra time so it’s timed we can get to exit tunnel to see red blow whistle and clap players. The occasions we have stopped it has took us 15-20 minutes to get out.The knock on effect with traffic etc usually costs us an additional 45 minutes plus stuck in traffic .
The stadium design and lack of entry/exit tunnels has been shown to be totally inadequate compared to other grounds.

Is this still going.
The subject has been done to death and the thread needs locking.

Facts are.

Youll never stop / cant stop people leaving early. Its called choice.
Noone "needs" to understand why complete strangers decide to leave early either.

Again its called choice.

Anymore for Anymore.......

Or can we lock it

its a very valid discussion. it has a detrimental effect on the team and a detrimental effect on the club as a whole.

the club and the fans are 100% right in trying to understand the reasons it happens and 100% right in trying to address it

Its also called choice for people to talk about it and comment on it.

Which I for one, will continue to do.

Its a hard subject and lots of people simply want to beat the crowds and traffic so suppose the first thing the club can do is find a way to make it easier for people to get out and flow away nicely but not sure how or what can be done.

Maybe when it starts the Fog Horn comes back on and gets the fans going again or bit drastic but gates dont open until the final whistle so once your in you are in until its over unless emergency of course

Could really do with half a dozen high level exits to lower bowl. Would look a fecking eyesore from outside but speed exit n hopefully remove the urgency to get out.

Folk do underestimate the time took to get to exit level like, ages!

Itll never be adressed though.

I had to leave the Brighton game on 89 minutes, for personal reasons.

For which it has nothing to do with complete strangers.

I find it more "strange" people care what strangers do.

But hey ho. There are some strange folk kicking about. 😂😂
Its not down to you to decide if a thread needs locking or not.

Completely right.

But Mods will end up locking 🔒 it.

👌

Then there will be another one next time it happens

Someone leaving early once for personal reasons isn't what the club are looking to address.

They are looking to address the 20,000 or so that have left the ground before full time.

Within that 20,000 there'll be a miriad of reasons. Some of them won't be able to be addressed, some of them will

If they can get that 20,000 down to say 5,000 then it's worth looking into

Irrespective of early leavers, if the club care about the supporters and their “matchday experience” as much they say they do….
they would have come together with the Police, Nexus etc long ago, to discuss the transport/travel situation on full time.
More buses and metros are needed.
Better traffic control is needed.
Better pedestrian routes are needed.

Maintaining a Sunday service when a match is on is unforgivable imo.

Early leaver “I’ve paid me money”

Actually high level exits were fitted to main stand before roker was flattened werent they.
But were they for emergency use only (post bradford/hillsborough maybe).

Midweek for example. Teesside train leaves five minutes after whistle.

How difficult is it to request a small delay to that?

Once you walk down steps , Even the walkway to the tunnels is way too narrow .
It’s a great stadium but this side of it lets it down badly.

Im no fanny but it’d be interesting to see how long itd take in a genuine emergency.

For that reason suprised it got the necesarry certs these days.
Good question . It’s only really got my attention since reading threads like this , you realise how bad the SOL is for stuff like this.

A far bigger stand granted but spurs has about 15 exit tunnels…

On the other thread a poster put pics up of Sid James, old Trafford and a few others and all had upper level exits and roughly had 3+ times the amount of exit tunnels per end than we do .
There’s your main problem . Everything else is incidental

I reckon building the sol now the design would be knocked back.
