More erasing of history...

Which suggests that the OP believes that it’s not just bank note design that’s erasing history (however nonsensical such a view might seem to many) and that there have previously been other instances of erasure.

Leaving aside the leaps of logic required to list or explore history that once existed but has now been erased … let’s just assume that’s merely semantics… I wonder what other historical events are that we once knew about but have now been erased, as suggested by the thread title.

I've already asked him what other history has been erased, he won't play with me though as he at least knows his limits.

I'd imagine statues.

Pulling down a statue of somebody doesn’t erase history. It doesn’t change the fact that the person to whom the statue is dedicated existed, or what they did.

In some cases it’s an indication that attitudes have changed towards the individual or their deeds. But the history is still there.

On other occasions : such as when the Islamic forces destroyed historical monuments in recent years or when invading forces destroyed religious statuary such as when the Romans invaded various countries or the British Empire was expanding or where the Native American tribes were decimated, historical records were destroyed or became non existent due to them being largely verbal. But I suspect those aren’t the statues you’re referring to.

Which statue destruction are you referring to that has resulted in erasure of the history of the people/person being depicted ?
 
We'll never know what else has been erased from history if it's been erased correctly.

And learn this also @johnlights: you are not the sole custodian of what it means to be British. We all are. You are not the sole custodian of British history. We all have the right to say how it should be commemorated.

What an un-British reply. A key British value is Mutual Respect, which promotes the idea of treating others with dignity and understanding, regardless of differences in background or beliefs. There are plenty of resources available to help with understanding British values. This is a good starting point:
