More erasing of history...

No one, not a single country celebrates bad things. Youre just coming up with nonsense.
Shakespeare, Turing deserve recognition, not removing.
Shakespeare has already been removed. As has Florence Nightingale who you mentioned earlier.

I think more should be done to celebrate great British people, but given there’s only 4 types of bank note in circulation (and they’re changed every few years), I don’t see the issue with not having them on there.

I’d rather have something akin to world book day where kids dress up as their favourite Briton (would probably still be Paddington, Harry Potter, Luke O’Nien).

Circulating great people is the crux.
Id happily see Johnson Beharrell (sp) on a note. A modern great.
But I think we have very different ideas of what it means.
Im sure we do.

Maybe you should try voting then
Replaced but the theme remained. Historical greats.
Now the theme is changing and all of these greats are binned.
I take it you think Gandhi should be removed from Rupees and replaced with a flower?
Ghandi did experiments that required a 14 year old relative sleep naked with him when he was in his 70s.

So there would be an argument for it.
