Dan Neil

Sounds like Ipswich fans are even worse than on here for overreacting.
I’ve been following this a bit. They have that Facebook page which is very much anti McKenna and they are critical of everything. I don’t think they are representative of the majority but they have valid points about how much money they have wasted.

Still not fully convinced he’s a worse back up for Geert given how it’s played out with him (huge dip in performances post transfer rumours)
I think Gert's the more reliable footballer, and can cover a few different positions.

End of the day, Gert's here for a year, Neil was running down a contract that wasn't gonna be renewed. He needed a move to play football.

From an Ipswich fan/ fanzine:

The decline of Dan Neil. Early performances were decent, but he's now had a succession of stinkers where he has been by far our worst player on the pitch.

Having won the EFL Trophy, and both the League One and Championship Playoffs with Sunderland he was binned off as soon as they hit the Premier League. Having stepped back down, he now looks like he's struggling at even this level.

If he continues to play like this, he won't likely be here beyond this season. That's as bad as two back-to-back games as I can remember for a Town player at this level.

He really wasn’t that good for us. Our midfield was stinking last year. We just had decent defenders and a rapid counter

We couldn’t retain the ball against any half decent team

9 month and 17 days.

Maybe he’s just not that good?
He was getting raved about a week or so back. Just a bunch of hot air merchants like on here

Finished 4th in the league and our midfield was stinking aye

I saw his mistake at the weekend where it nea.ry cost a goal, but in the other games I’ve watched them he has looked decent. I think Neil is a championship player for sure, but one who I think is better than some give him credit for.
