Aye we took our daughter when she was 4, she loved it. Managed to get on plenty of rides etc.
Plus we got pics with pretty much every character. Which we'd never really done when it was the 2 of us.

Thinking we can split off to do rides with our daughter as well if needed. We'll stay at Disney again, which makes it a touch easier getting about.

Loads of our mates have been to DLP, I've never fancied it for the reason you say. Wouldn't seem right being in Disney and not sweating my back off

We boiled at DLP one summer, it can still get bloody hot. That was the time I relented from buying water and just started drinking from the fountains.
I won't go to Orlando in summer now either, its just horrible. We went in April-25 and it was magnificent. Hot enough, easily, to lie around the water parks, but not uncomfortable when walking around the theme parks, it was glorious.
Just need to make sure you don't clash spring break and if you avoid actual easter then its a tad quieter than summer too.

Mind, there's no way I'm going to the US at the moment.

Aye we've done April, May and August in Orl. August last time we were there was roasting, got used to being a sweaty mess after a few days!

Took our daughters to Paris at that age, all they were interested in is characters at that age, they loved it. Waited until they were 5/6 for Florida

Currently $35 per day which is nuts. Clearly they want to push people to staying at their hotels. I see the appeal to some people. I just prefer for my daughter to have her own bedroom so she can go to bed at a reasonable time while we are still awake, which is why we prefer to stay in a villa. We might get an uber some days depending on what we are doing.

Still $35, but it is still a massive rip off. More palatable if you hop around the parks. We goto a park early, then pop out somewhere nice for lunch, then goto another park, then maybe one more for a couple of hours on the night for the turn.!

We are gonna swap back to this next time, stayed in hotels the last few times and not as good as having your own place. Loud obnoxious idiots coming and going at all hours making as much noise as they can, can't beat your own space in a villa! Especially as you say to get the bairn to sleep, let them have a good rest. Ready to tackle the next day!

Must say I've never had such problems in the hotels we use, and we have a constantly-running bus service to the parks, every 30 mins - so no parking charges either, and walking distance to Disney Springs.

Make the most of the early entry if you're staying in a Disney hotel mate. Rope drop the major riders and the queues are very small compared to later in the day. We ticked off the main ones at all the parks pretty easily in the mornings then the rest of the day is much more chilled. One day the kids even did Rock N Rollercoaster three times in about 15 minutes as I think everyone goes to Star Wars, which we'd already done.

Took mine to the Paris one for his 2nd birthday. He really enjoyed it, but was confused about some of the characters. A 6-foot dog and duck walking around is confusing tbf.

All of these. We stayed at Pop back in October/November and got lucky seeing the back end of the Halloween stuff and start of the Xmas stuff (although it should be illegal to promote Xmas before December ).

Depending on the kids ages, how long you're there etc. with being on the bus and skyline routes there are loads of ways you can do things. We took advantage of the early rope drops then got the kids to go back to the hotel later for a nap before heading back out to the parks for the night to watch the fireworks. There's the fireworks at MK and Epcot as well as Fantasmic at HWS. Get to do a lot of the rides later as well.

All of these. We stayed at Pop back in October/November and got lucky seeing the back end of the Halloween stuff and start of the Xmas stuff (although it should be illegal to promote Xmas before December ).

Depending on the kids ages, how long you're there etc. with being on the bus and skyline routes there are loads of ways you can do things. We took advantage of the early rope drops then got the kids to go back to the hotel later for a nap before heading back out to the parks for the night to watch the fireworks. There's the fireworks at MK and Epcot as well as Fantasmic at HWS. Get to do a lot of the rides later as well.

We're toying with the idea of doing that next year mate, last week in Oct first week in Nov. Purely for that reason!

No suggesting you don't need a car at all, my dad wouldn't dream of not having one. I'd not bother most likely as we would do parks almost every day.
We're just inside the boundary of disney property, so the buses are short hops, in some cases it would take longer to walk from the car park to the entrances I think!

Never had any noise or comfort issues, the idea of the kids not getting a good rest is entirely foreign to my experience. Maybe where we go is a generally quieter area?

As much as I want to agree with the people who say "take it easy, enjoy yourself" - nah, not at Disney - you need a plan! And ropedrop is the only real way to avoid the humungus queues.

As much as I want to agree with the people who say "take it easy, enjoy yourself" - nah, not at Disney - you need a plan! And ropedrop is the only real way to avoid the humungus queues.

I agree with the planning, we plan everything to the n-th degree. We are planning on going in May 2027 and our spreadsheet is already huge.

My talking about the kids not getting a rest isn't really want I was saying. It was more what we do when the kids go to sleep. If you are in a hotel room and share with them for two weeks what do you then do? We end up sitting in the near dark from about 8pm. If we are in a villa our daughter can go to bed and we can go in the pool or whatever. It probably depends on how old your kids are and how much sleep they need to be ready to go the next day. We are planning on getting the lightning lane multipass for the days we are doing the rides in magic kingdom and hollywood studios so while the magic hours would have been nice, it's something we are happy to trade. This is where different people can do it different ways depending on their preference.

We took a suite last time so the kids could sleep in the main room and we had a room of our own. A villa would have been even better for that.
