Should we target a trophy next season?

Given this is our best chance to progress a route to the FA Cup final for 3 decades I can't believe some think we shouldn't bother.

Honestly take it now because I doubt we will ever get as easy a chance as this one. Lets go to Wembley man
Best opportunity we've had in donkeys. No pressure in the league, its now or never but some will never be satisfies

You make a compelling case but there are more important things to fry than cups. We have not been able to cement a long term position in the Premier League. Ever. Every single time it’s been a year of struggle. The few moments where we have seen the top 10. I have envied for years the likes of Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest for being able to do that. That to me is real success. Because it last longer. And it benefits us as a growing club more than a cup win does. Constant survival well away from the relegation zone means we can stay afloat making profits season on season. Till one day we can be spoken about in the same breath as Fulham or Everton.

Its our first season back and we are all but safe for another year. Build on that next season. The current route to the FA Cup is not one that will come around so easily again. Topping off our first season back by winning that trophy would be the greatest benefit we could get.

Doesn’t bother me where we finish as long as we don’t have the pressure of a relegation fight, which we don’t.
Go for a cup run now imo.

Staying up for another season is not something that will come around so easily either. There is no guaranteed we will still be in the Premier League past next season. Past history has shown we don’t stay up for long and when we do it is a constant struggle with relegation.

Ok, now we are safe this is where KLD really needs to show us what he is capable of. For a boxer keeping a belt is often harder than winning it, they say. Now that we are in the Premier League he’s going to have to do for us what the likes of Bournemouth and Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest have done. And before me, I envy them for staying up as long as they have more than Liverpool or Man City for winning as many cups as they have. It that ain’t easy to do continuously build the club up every season. A cup run will always come round next season. A strong league season will not.
