I miss the old days when every team went into the cup competitions with ambitions to get as far as possible.

Big Gay Al?Yes, we should try to win everything we are in for.
Good answer. Will give our fringe players plenty of starts and we know they'll be giving 100%. Especially big Al, you ain't seen nothing yet.
You have to stop being terrified of what the mags think, they don't even cross my mind. We need to be confident and cocky, no more of this fatalist, pissimistic, 'nothing good ever happens, we are cursed' attitude. Once the fans foster a belief, it will filter through to the players. We should be fearless, the players should train without shirts on and gloves should be banned during matches.Ffs another one? So are you an alter ego of deluded world so u can put this on twitter as more deluded mackem shit? We’ve just come up we’ve got to survive first.
Nope, not interested in the cup. Survival only.Anyone changed their mind?

But survival is as good as guaranteed.Nope, not interested in the cup. Survival only.
I’m quite happy with survival this season and the next. But survival is as good as guaranteed.
The usual concentrate on the league, I’d happily turn it to concentrate on the cup.
Of course, we’d all be happy with survival and consolidation, for many seasons in the Premier League we struggled, some of those seasons we sank without a trace, some we stopped up, and then after circling the drain we fell down it.I’m quite happy with survival this season and the next.
Consolidation.
Hope you’re right.Of course, we’d all be happy with survival and consolidation, for many seasons in the Premier League we struggled, some of those seasons we sank without a trace, some we stopped up, and then after circling the drain we fell down it.
But, I truly believe after many false hopes/dawns that we are at the start of a journey
This lad knew the crack. If we can't challenge for the cups as a PL club then we never can. I absolutely think we should try to win them both. Get a few kind draws and you can find yourself in the quarters relatively easily. It's not a league or cup situation, we are in both. We are as close to level playing field as we have been in 8 years, bearing in mind it was only 11 years since our last final.
This lad knew the crack.
Must admit I was worried when I seen this thread had been bumped.
Not in my experience but I’ve only been a fan since 1968.Do we not target trophies every season?
At the start of a season, before a ball is kicked, every team aims to win league games to finish as high as possible in their division surely? Not in my experience but I’ve only been a fan since 1968.
Let’s not run before we’ve learned to walk.
It’s not been long since we first learned how to be a Premier League club. I don’t just mean a one season wonder. I mean a perennial long term club. Even then we are nowhere near the finished article. There is still so much work to do before we can officially say we have everything in place to survive two or more seasons. So much investment. So many more players of an even higher quality. So much homework to how to approach Premier League teams and what to expect from them tactics wise in a game. We are about 3-4 years and several million in player recruitment away from cementing a long future in the Premier League.
Let’s think about cups when we are good enough to stay up long enough to win one.
No, still think we need to go all out in every game we play.Anyone changed their mind?
