Gold price has gone mental. Gold costing more than platinum makes no sense to me. Plus there's the cost / risk of storing it.

I tried that only trouble is I live on the top floor of a block of flats, the bloke below came home to find a pile of gold in his lounge

You want to do the opposite to what is logical. Everyone will have already done the same re: Gold and Silver. Wait for drops of other stocks and take your pick.

Today hasn't been as bad as I feared. UK markets down a bit but the US is holding up.

£ is down a bit against $ so if funds are heavily US, then you should end being up.
