I’ll continue to renew regardless of the cost even though I can get to less and less games (working away more) due to the resale credit being applied to the direct debit renewal which the club seemed to have changed stance on but not communicated. It’s great that they've done this. Seems odd they’ve not communicated it though. It’s a massive plus point for me.
I agree, but I put in on my credit card to get the credits for my 3 tickets only to find I could have DD installments.
Its put enormous short term pressure on me at same time as paying tax bills.
Why on earth they did not communicate it as it contradicts previous statements is beyond me.
They still have some way to go before the executive covers ALL the angles on any particular subject
Based on crowds of 75k & 47k that means Man U rake in approximately £1800 per head per match - and us £250 per headIt's still not bad given it's £20 a game in yellow & blue and £25 in the red for the long term supporters and less that a couple of quid more for those who started during last 3 Championship seasons. It does look like the club are wanting the red section to be adults willing to pay top dollar and have Over 65s or those younger than 22 go into blue/yellow sections. The club removed the U16 from the red section a couple of seasons ago.
Other clubs have far worse concessions and often have far less concession availability as we've got one of the best but it's thanks to the SOL size. Some clubs milk fans due to the limits of stadiums and it's why Leeds generate £30m in match day from 35,000 fans as demand allows it. Whereas we get less matchday revenue from more fans. If we had the same pricing structure as Leeds then we'd see a hit on numbers. The mags are paying the price for chasing the Champions League and it's why their revenue has gone from £25m to £50m in last few seasons. Still nowhere near the big 6 though and they will reach a limit.
The slight tweaking with younger fans prices in red sections by us, changing of U16 to U14 is all understandable though and still not as bad as other clubs. The club have got to make the best out of it without affecting fans and having to move seats is a lot better than just pricing them right out. They'll hopefully look at extending rather than doing what many other clubs have done and just keep increasing prices.
This season our match day should be above Wolves but with the new renewals for next season, we'll probably be above Fulham in the 2026/27 books. We won't be above Everton as they've just moved stadium so will be nearer £30m I reckon, if not more. If the club even expands then I can see it going above £30m and possibly being 9th highest after West Ham (if they're still in the PL).

I've renewed. What pissed me off us I've had to pay the higher price for my seat as I've on paper only had a season ticket for one year...Just interested to gauge specifically if many people have decided not to renew their season ticket for next year due to the price rises? Or if there is a price point where you would say enough is enough?
Obviously other personal circumstances can influence a decision to renew (income/health/moving away), but it would be interesting to discuss specifically around the pricing.
Personally speaking, as long as I'm working and it remains affordable I expect I'll continue to renew but would probably draw the line eventually if they continue compounding far-above-inflation increases year after year (this year mine has gone from £460 to £590, an increase of 28%), and I'm sure many of our ST holders will be even less tolerant of continuous price rises.
Everyone round us all renewing -was chatting about it at weekendJust interested to gauge specifically if many people have decided not to renew their season ticket for next year due to the price rises? Or if there is a price point where you would say enough is enough?

It’s obviously not going to up up like that though is it?Me too, but if they continue price rises at the same pace as this time (+28%), mine will be:
25/26 £460
26/27 £590
27/28 £755
28/29 £967
29/30 £1237
30/31 £1584

The fact we have this discussion should make people think before they start digging out other sets of fans for attendances. City cop for it plenty.
Remember the attendance at the home leg of the semi final against Man Utd in the league cup.Man City had excellent attendances when they went down to league 1. They are a big historic club with a core of loyal support who stuck with them much like ours did.
If we ended being as successful as City, we would have empty seats for cup semi finals at Wembley like they do.
Even the uber bestest supporters in the world had empty seats at a nothing game against Carrier Bag the other night.
I'm not convinced. Tours are expensive. They're always been expensive, and often got out of control depending on the whims of the artist, but in today's world they're really expensive. Minimum wage, health & safety, fuel & logistics, venues, promotion. It all costs an absolute fortune, and is no longer subsidised by record sales. It used to be tours would drive records sales and that's where the money was. Now it's the other way 'round.Footy and gigs have been eye-wateringly above inflation for some time now. Unless it’s one of my few must sees, gigs can get to fuck for me these days.
Rancid. The Chelsea game was a disgrace really.Remember the attendance at the home leg of the semi final against Man Utd in the league cup.
I've got genuine concerns over securing a seat for me son. He's not 1 yet.
They're not though. That's the point. At present, it's less than £35 a game. And there's 19 of them.
The whole "well it's a one-off" compared to 19 games at a fraction of the price argument doesn't really wash.
You can quite easily spend more than you would on a season ticket by going to only 2 to 4 concerts a year.
Why should a football match be any cheaper than it already is, just because there's another one next week?
Absolutely not.So are you arguing in favour of bringing football ticket prices inline with concerts?
I'm not sure why you made the comparison in the first place if there is no comparison to be made.
I agree £35 per match isn't bad. £150 per match if similar to concerts would not be a sustainable to 95% of supporters leaving us with an empty stadium after a few matches - so its obvious why football tickets need to be priced lower than concerts.
A good point as I knew about it but didn't point out how big it actually was. They've got well over 3,000 corporate so at least 10% of the ground is corporate. The corporate (lounges) are the light grey area in the West stand (there's also a small one in the East stand, possibly similar to our 76 yards when you click on it to see the size)All of the greyed out bits, except in the away end, are hospitality. That's far more seats than we have currently.

Cost will also come into it. People are skint. Yet we expect other sets of supporters to pull out coin galore for fixtures galore.I reckon if we got into Europe in the next few years, once the novelty had worn off in the first few, we'd get attendances of around 20-25K
JohnalightsThis time it couldn’t be any easier for you to jump ship ……. just do nothing and your wish will be granted
Sunderland til the novelty wears off
You know how I apologised, drunkingly, to you.
I fully retract that.
You hate Sunderland fans.
so much for taking a bullet??
