Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor arrested

The palace media machine have made it clear for years that you avoid multiple topics or you'll be excluded from future coverage.

Maitliss was the first to go against this.

In the future rhe Royal's need to be more transparent re finances and the media less hoop licking.

Channel 4 did well because they refused an interview with Charles rather than comply.

But in general, yes, the 'Royal Correspondents' aren't journalists in any real sense of the word, they're supine little bootlicking PR flacks.

Was she really the first to push back successfully?

That interview was so excellent. Brilliantly done by Maitliss.

Very accurate description.

He is fucked now, cos there will be hundreds of people who he has belittled, abused and used over the years that will be happy to put the boot in.

What goes around, comes around Andy boy. 😁
What is even funnier, is that he will be wobbling around his big house, all on his own, completely wallowing in self pity, thinking "Why is everyone picking on me?"

What he failed to realise was that when The Quen died, he lost his only ally.

Now nobody gives fuck, and it is only just getting going. 🤣

I'm confused about that first bit, as :

If a case passes both stages of our legal test, we will authorise the police to charge the suspect.

The prosecutor will decide which charges are most appropriate, based on the available evidence.

The police will charge the suspect with these offences and the case will be listed for a first hearing.

Everyone's wrong as it's actually either the police, or the CPS that decide, depending on what crime has been committed. I must have only been arrested for things that didn't need CPS involvement to charge and could be dealt with solely by the police and I assumed that was the case across the board.

According to the CPS, the police charge in two thirds of cases, and they are for less serious offences. For more serious offences, it is indeed the CPS that decide.

You couldn't be more wrong if you tried 😀 Police arrest, gather evidence then submit the evidence to the CPS who decide whether to prosecute or not.
Not quite. It's either the police that charge, and they do so in about two thirds of cases and it's the CPS that decide to bring charges in the remainder of cases. I assumed the police charged in all cases and never realised it was just the majority of the time they do.

As a supporter of the Monarchy I would support this. The whole principle of a constitutional monarchy is that they should operate within the law so if they break the law then they should forfeit their privileges.
Fine. As long as you're prepared to wait a while. There's quite a lot of business to deal with in Parliament at the moment and some of it is rather important. So I'd hope this wasn't given top priority; I mean it's a symbolic gesture given that it makes no practical difference unless 7 other people, some of whom are children, die before TTFKAP (The Tosser Formerly Known As Prince) shuffles off.

After the UK Parliament approves his removal from the line of succession, it has to go to 14 other Commonwealth countries Parliaments for their approval. So I hope you're not in a hurry.

If there are resources flung at this to get it done quickly I think I'd be slightly annoyed but I can imagine they will be, given that the media will be droning on about it incessantly and wondering why it hasn't happened - even though they know fine well - for as long as it takes.

Pointless, expensive exercise.

One of the Queens old Corgis will get the throne before Andy.

I thought you meant his nick name was "NSFW", which would be a bit of a mouthful.

Now I realise you were talking about the interview itself, and that his nickname is exactly what you would expect it to be.

And a cap doffer like you. They'll never do anything wrong in your eyes. Do you even think andrew has done out wrong? Wouldnt be surprised if you said 'no,god bless im'.
Let's get this in to perspective.

YouGov have released figures since this has all blown up.

The Royal Family as an institution has an approval rating with the British public of over 60%

The King is 63%

Prince William is 74%

To bring that in to focus, the Labour Government was elected with just over 12% of the population voting for them.

You can sling names like Cap Doffer and Hoop Licker all you like marra, but you are firmly in a minority, albeit a very vocal one.

Ok then. So there are a lot of cap doffers. And?
