Max Power

The very worst (in my opinion) of that era was Dobson - like a hyperactive puppy chasing a balloon. It's beyond my comprehension that he's been a regular in a rising Championship team at Wrexham.

i can still picture the gangly way he ran, like his shoulders were too high for the bottom of his head and his arms were too long his torso. just a very freakishly proportioned young man

f***ing fair play to the lad for how his career is shaping up. watched wrexham once this season and he looked good, and put in some wicked crosses

He's doing well for us. 7/10 or brtter every week. Brilliant at holding possession for us in tight spaces and a vocal leader that we've needed for years. Just wish he wouldn't shoot...ever.
McGeouch was the ultimate example of a nothing player, absolute f***ing garbage.
Absolutely fuckin' dreadful.

Made worse by a few happy clapping intellectuals on here, making out they were seeing something in his game that the rest of us could not. There was a bit of that going about in those days. Whoppers.
Look at this beauty.
A better range of passing than Makele. 🤣😭😂

The poster you've linked there also claimed that George Dobson was our best player. Not just best midfielder but best player in the entire squad. @Coeus

I feel as if the jovial nature of the post my have gone over your head Chris? Comparing McGeoch to Xavi may have been a clue if having attributes better than Makelele wasn't?

To be expected from one who didn't rate McGeoch to be fair.

Mind ya chain doesn't come off with all that back peddling lad.

Winchester playing away for Derry City in the League of Ireland. Their season has just started, 2 games in. Along with of course another ex-Lads player in a certain James McClean

Aye. Nice interview with him on Shrewsbury's site. Only gone back to N Ireland for family's sake. His youngest missing her daddy.

Speaks highly of of SAFC and says he is so proud to have played for such a club.

Thanks Winnie.

I liked McGeoch, suggesting I honestly felt he drew comparisons to Xavi or had better attributes than Makelele, is silly. As I said, I guess it's to be expected from one who can't work out the minutiae of what he brought.

Oddly enough I remember thinking it was a very good signing getting a player from the Scottish Prem at that level. Shows how shite the standard is up there because he was anonymous every week.
He was widely seen as been a bit of a coup for us at the time and there were apparently quite a few Championship clubs interested but like you say the fact that he looked really good for Hibs says far more about how shite the general standard up there is.

I'm sure when he signed him he was highly rated, relative to our position at the time? A young established captain? Like you say, fair play to him.

Might sneak into the premier.
