Mundle

Mundle is a willing worker and has genuine ability in running at pace with the ball.

Ultimately though he’ll be judged as a winger by the number of assists and goals he contributes to the side.

So far this season in all competitions he’s made 13 appearances (some starting, some off the bench) and has a total of 0 goals and 0 assists.

By comparison Talbi has 20 appearances with 3 goals and 1 assist.

I’d imagine Alungo will be the next left sided winger given a chance to prove he’s worthy of his place in the starting eleven.

It’s nothing personal against Mundle but if the club want to make continual progress they will replace players who aren’t contributing.

I can see Mundle being allowed to leave in the summer with Talbi/Alungo fighting it out for the left winger spot.
What the f#@k is Alungo? Do they drink it in the Congo?

It really says something about some of our so called “fans” that we had a young player who today ran his heart out, got kicked all over the pitch yet put in arguably his best performance for us and was MOTM yet they are on here running him down.
Absolutely shocking. And I bet most never go to games just sit on here being keyboard warriors.

I’ll not say what I think of them otherwise I would get a ban !!

Don’t get wound up about it. Take things on here with a pinch of salt.

I hope Mundle turns out to be a good PL player, from what I’ve seen so far I don’t think he will be. He works hard and clearly has ability though.

Oh and Luke was MOTM 😉

He’s been given more time than others have they had hamstring surgery ??? He’s barely started man
He's played about 100 minutes fewer than Adingra - who was widely criticised for lack of end product. Adingra got 1 goals and 2 assists in 700 minutes. Mundle has 0 and 0 in about 600 minutes.

Fwiw Mundle played very well today (largely). He was too quick and just ran past players for fun. Unfortunately, he can't away with that in the PL and just loses the ball all the time against better defenders. Even today, there's just no end product. Gets himself in great positions multiple times, great dribbling, and wants an extra 57 touches and it comes to nothing.

He probably needed a loan tbh - 6 months of regular starts to get into some rhythm, but we wouldn't do it. He'll find himself behind Angulo, Talbi, Traore, Le Fee etc in the wide areas once players are back fit.

Doesnt yet deserve a chance in prem as he hasnt really cut it lower down. Was v good early last season, injured then average at best. Needs a loan to champ to realise if he's got what it takes higher up. It wont happen for him being a bit part player for us

I like that Mundle brings about such passionate discourse. Young guy that Regis trusts with the role he prefers from his wingers, except winger is such a flair position and so many people key in various aspects differently. Even today alone, Mundle and Talbi approach taking up space so differently.

He’s just not Premier League quality. I’ve not said anything personal about him and that is my opinion.

You have yours.

Why does that bother you so much?
What makes you the expert that he isn’t Premier League quality ??
A player who is in our matchday squad every week. A player not sent out on loan or sold during the transfer window.
How is your opinion worth more than Regis and our Management team ?

Oh hold on - it isn’t. I’ll support and accept their views and opinions thanks rather than some no mark keyboard warrior .

I’m genuinely curious here. What is he not doing that Talbi or Traore are doing that makes you think he’s not Premier League quality?

He’s not miles off them, and I’d actually argue he’s more aggressive in his forward play at times. He loses the ball being a winger and having a go, he should have had a hat trick today mind.

I’m not trying to change your opinion, just interested in what you’re seeing that makes you so certain.

I'm not convinced he has the talent for the top flight. But he's out the team first by playing for us when not fully fit last year, he works his socks off whenever he plays. If we make him available in the summer I'd expect a championship bidding war.

Both Talbi and Traore have contributed way more this season, scored, and won us points.

Until Mundle does that I am not convinced that he is Premier League quality.

Traore is a different level to them both. We miss him loads. He does a lot of work that went uncredited but when he didn't play we suffered. Mundle has a chance still although I did write him off. Looked up for it yesterday and hope he continues. Think Talbi has ability too but on the right seems to hinder him. Ta Bi looked like a wild card so he might be interesting at the end of games. Angulo likely first choice on the left against Fulham.

None of the players your comparing him too have just come back from major hamstring surgery

He’s got the attributes to be a prem player -quick to forget he’s probably played accumulatively, 1 full season of professional football due to injuries.
Yesterday was a marked improvement on what he’s done in his cameos, albeit against Oxford. Nice to see him get 90 though, should help him out.

The stats currently aren't lying, I totally get that. I just don't think there is massively levels apart. My opinion is they are all doing some kind of job. Mundle has been unlucky in terms of, he could have been involved in a goal of the season contender a couple of weeks back, and he should really have at least one goal and an assist but for some poor finishing.

Traore is a different level to them both. We miss him loads. He does a lot of work that went uncredited but when he didn't play we suffered. Mundle has a chance still although I did write him off. Aye Traore is a real funny one for me, I wasn't seeing what he was doing until he wasn't there anymore, and I don't think we have seen a fully fit Traore yet, having said that I still I don't see him as a level above, he just has a lot more experience.
