Speakman gone

Well done Speakman 👏, great effort getting Sunderland back to the Premier League. He will not be short of job offers I’m sure.
It looked obvious when Ghisolfi stepped in that this was a transitional job.

We need an academy manager too don’t we? Lots of destabilisation. KS was always clearly all over the whole of the club. Need FG to show he is too - and pronto.

If Speakman’s expertise is the British market then it makes sense that we need world expertise to compete in the Prem. Does make me wonder if Adingra was a Speakman suggestion but it’s all speculation unless anyone is itk.

His role restoring the Club cannot be underestimated. Thank you, Kristjaan!

My thoughts as well ,not wait till end of the season and thank you, immediate effect for me is a big bust up behind closed doors.
Or there is an opportunity coming and the club don't want to stand in his way.

Coming so soon after Vulcano does show why people can get suspicious.

Sounds like we've just upgraded. He's had a couple of windows to show what he can do at Prem level and I guess musnt have delivered now we have Ghisoffi.

Done a cracking job overall, had some misses, was frustrating at times but helped us go from League 1 to Prem and that's all we required so fair play to him and he'll find himself with plenty offer from the back of it as we went up on a ridiculously tight budget.

Guess no one's safe and rewarded for taking us up and in football that's probably the way it has to be. Owner needs to be ruthless cause it's a ruthless business.

Did some good stuff , did some less good stuff . Main thing he did was brought us the Bellingham money and probably helped keep Riggy . I dont think hes had much to do with building the current first 11 or players around the squad we wont be trying to replace in the summer. We havent signed a decent lower level English prospect for years which was his main play book . Not knocking him at all hes definitely worked his frock off but neither am i having a wake.
Lets not forget he signed, Ba, Jewi, Poveda, Hjelda, Pembele, . Browne, let Mowbray go and brought in "the greatest coaching I've ever seen" in Beale and couldnt find a striker for two years ( did well to get money for Stewart though )
If that second Shef Utd goal had stood and we'd stayed in a difficult Championshp many would have been wanting him gone about now .
Its a bit concerning, the radical nature of an assistant head coach and a director of football leaving in close proximity but if we'd beat Liverpool people wouldnt have been worried in the least
Good luck Speakers , its been emotional 😭 😬🫣😳👏🏻👏🏻

He had the most senior role at the club during a period we went from the laughing stock of the football pyramid to widely regarded as the best run club outside the Premier League. Think that deserves a bit more credit than you're giving him here.

Birmingham would be the obvious move. They would pay him a fortune and he'd continue the job he effectively left here.

There were those rumours in the summer of him going to Lyon though I have no idea if they were made up nonsense or not.

I was just wondering to meself was it Speakman lobbying for Will Still? Le Bris's KLD's man.

Could tell in the summer it was Ghisolfi organising everything on the signings front so not too surprised tbh. Done an unreal job though getting us promoted on the budget he had
This, seemed Speakman was on the way out once Ghisolfi was brought in, made sense to wait till after the Jan window
