I did wonder this. It’s a funny loan because their keeper is actually decent and has potential.
I suspect Patterson will get games, otherwise what’s the point. But this isn’t a situation where they have a duffer in goal and are desperate for a keeper
Then who am I thinking oftheir current keeper is in his 30s and had never played in the championship before this season
Shay Given did well for us having been thrown in as a kid.No idea, but GK is probably the worst position to play a stranger. It would be a bigger surprise to me if he went straight in.
Hjelde will be backup at Sheff Utd like he was here.Neither Patto, Neil or Hjelde have stated a game since going out on loan.
Aye but he needs to get a chance to shine to get a decent price for himSounds harsh but the lad isn’t our problem anymore. Millwall loan is his first foot out the door.
Bang average Championship keeperStarted the last two and has back to back clean sheets (3-0 win home to Birmingham & 2-0 win away to Preston) as Millwall are now 3rd (one point off 2nd placed Boro).
Gan on Patterson.
Hopefully another loan to premier league MillwallWill he come back and challenge Ellborg for No 1 next season?

That save from Moore’s header was the best I’ve seen from a Sunderland keeper since Monty at Wembley. I’ll always wish him well wherever he goes for that, and his overall service for us.who got us promoted.
I couldn’t believe he kept it out at the time. From where we were sat it was destined for the net. Looked even better when we saw it back after. I’m not old enough to have seen Monty’s first hand. I know Gordon’s vs Bolton always gets a mention but when you factor in the magnitude of the game and the timing within the game itself, I can’t think of any better. That save from Moore’s header was the best I’ve seen from a Sunderland keeper since Monty at Wembley. I was being sarky man, have a look at me posting history re Pattersonwho got us promoted.
