Numbers wise, arguably. We don't have a small squad
Well he has just said in Embargoed Section Hume is a better player no matter the position in reality and he will be playing him before Geertruida, you simply can't interpret any other way Which is not true. Not according to Reggie in the latest presser
I think he’ll start too. Maybe Diarra dropping out. Whilst he might have been psychically fit for 8 weeks now, he still hasn’t had a lot of match time. Even less time “making connections” & playing in Le Bris’ set ups. I reckon three centre halves, Hume & Reinildo wing backs with Sadiki & Gerty as the central midfielders.
You’re blinded by the fact one is from Northern Ireland and cost a bag of peanuts, and one is a Dutch international that Liverpool wanted purely because their manager, managed him in Holland.Well he has just said in Embargoed Section Hume is a better player no matter the position in reality and he will be playing him before Geertruida, you simply can't interpret any other way Which is not true.
To save any confusion here is the transcript from about 2.15 in vid.
"Yeah, it's a it's a good point. I think uh his main strength is is versatility and um probably in that industry um the most usual pathway is to stay in one
position. So, and I think we have to value his versatility and because if it's his strength and for him um it's a complex situation because he's
really useful for the squad often the the 11th uh game time uh for 10 positions on the pitch but it's still the 11th which is really good in the
Premier League and uh the ambition uh to be a starter is normal for for a footballer and the world cup with this future in his mind is really important
as well. So many things are combined and uh I can add um the complexity of the transfer window with many rumors, many opportunities, but facts are facts.
It's just the end of the process. Do you want to sign or not? And it wasn't so clear finally. Do you think there's still a chance that you'll be able to sign him permanently
in the summer or do you think with the situation as it is, maybe it will be difficult with his lack of sort of regular start?
I don't know to be fair. I don't know. Uh really appreciate his profile, the person as well. He's a good teammate in the dressing room and um like Trey for example. Trey is our captain, right back, left back, center back, right winger, midfielder."
Hume isn't a midfielder certainly not a winger. I doubt he will want to sign, I would be amazed if he did. The question is will he really be arsed, it can only be WC year that will keep him interested.
RLB is no different to about 90 - 95% of managers that have blind spots for players, it doesn't make them right just stubborn, Rigg as a winger as another example.

It’s a no brainer signing him imo. I don’t think we will though. It’s World Cup year and he isn’t getting games.I really like him and hope we sign him permanently but you make it sound like he’s bigger than the club and should be guaranteed a game. We’re on the whole performing well this season so Regis can’t be faulted for his selections, we happen to have a lot of good players. I’d like to think his attitude is I’ll fight for my place rather than sulking, tbf to him he puts in a good display and shift just about every time he starts or comes on. It’s a squad game these days.
Surely this has to be a whoosh. You’re blinded by the fact one is from Northern Ireland and cost a bag of peanuts, and one is a Dutch international that Liverpool wanted purely because their manager, managed him in Holland.
On showings this season, Gertrude has done nothing to suggest he’s better than Hume in any position.
Nor has he done it in training by the looks of things.
It’s not that at all. The difference between the two of them on the ball is clear as day, both from the eye test and statistically. You’re blinded by the fact one is from Northern Ireland and cost a bag of peanuts, and one is a Dutch international that Liverpool wanted purely because their manager, managed him in Holland.

What’s the stats? It’s not that at all. The difference between the two of them on the ball is clear as day, both from the eye test and statistically.
He’s been in the treatment room & playing little to no football with them. He’ll have trained more with Senegal. So when do you think diarra will get the chance to catch up on his game time or time making connections while you'd have him dropped.
That's pathetic as he's our best link up front to brobbey and his connections are already here, what do you think he's been doing since he's signed for us, ignoring all the other players.
If you genuinely think Hume has played better in central midfield than Geertruida you've been on the sniff. You’re blinded by the fact one is from Northern Ireland and cost a bag of peanuts, and one is a Dutch international that Liverpool wanted purely because their manager, managed him in Holland.

This. Also, I like Geertruida, think he's been good when he's played, but if he wants guaranteed first team football I'm not sure where he'll get it tbh. Liverpool would probably have played him, but only because they've got two right backs out and the manager knows him, very little chance they'd have signed him permanently. He hasn't shown enough to deserve to be ahead of Hume (at RB), Mukiele (CB or RB), or the lads in midfield. He's a good footballer but most decent sides have strong options like we do. If he doesn't sign because he wants to be a starter it would probably have to be for a mid table side in a weaker league. If he wants to stay in a top league then, like most players, he'll have to accept not being an automatic starter. He'd still get plenty of minutes through injury, resting players, suspensions etc and would get plenty of chances to play well enough to stay inI really like him and hope we sign him permanently but you make it sound like he’s bigger than the club and should be guaranteed a game. He’s in the bottom 8% for passing accuracy, bottom 50% for % duels won, bottom 40% for being disposed, bottom 10% for dribble success. What’s the stats?
21 outfield ànd 3 keepers think he said ?Not according to Reggie in the latest presser
It wasn't even Harrison, we have 3 wingers to come into squad we are fineNumbers wise, arguably.
Quality wise we had Harrison Jones on the bench on Monday. He was never getting on the pitch, so we’ve not got a big enough squad of potential players who could play.
Regardless of our formation Hume will be captain today. RLB talked him up as captain during his presser.I think Hume is more suited to the less arduous international games rather than the quick press and hurley burley of the Premier league. He may well not start tomorrow unless RLB plays a back 5.
Hume hasn’t played in central midfield. He’s had a role that involved moving into central midfield, but not strictly that position. If you genuinely think Hume has played better in central midfield than Geertruida you've been on the sniff.
I like Hume and he's shown he is a Premier League quality defender IMO but he's never a central midfielder.
I haven't seen the presser and by the way I like Hume but do think, like so many others on here that Geetruida is a better player.Regardless of our formation Hume will be captain today. RLB talked him up as captain during his presser.
So has Hume, that's the problem, his passing isn't great.Hume hasn’t played in central midfield. He’s had a role that involved moving into central midfield, but not strictly that position.
The manager agrees, and that’s all that matters.
Gertruida, for he’s clearly a very good player, has made multiple hospital passes almost every single games he’s played.
He hasn’t though, not to the same extent as Gertruidas heart in mouth moments. Hume usually loses the ball in the oppositions half when we’re playing forward.I haven't seen the presser and by the way I like Hume but do think, like so many others on here that Geetruida is a better player.
So has Hume, that's the problem, his passing isn't great.
This. I’m not sure how people don’t understand this.RLB will play his best team for his tactics.
Period.
