Really fancied this but forgot to get tickets.....managed to get a last min one for Red Rum Club at Stockton Ku Friday night tho - they were excellent in such a small venue
Back to Tom, same him 6 months ago after not seeing him for a while thought his new Bowie/Rolling Stones look was great and like his slightly more dancey tunes

Don't get me wrong, i much prefer smaller more intimate venues for my 'regular' gigs, but for this kind of performance this venue was excellent. I get the airport vibes, but it's got great views out over the city and the acoustics were brilliant. I can see why Mogwai are there next month.....can't make it as away on hols :(

I foolishly bagged front row seats which were just TOO close for that show - I still have no idea what half the orchestra look like and have to assume it was Lizzie Jones on trumpet as I could only see her legs and a music stand! Fantastic noise though.

Thought Midlake were tremendous last night, aided by the tremendous sound mix at the FS. Nice to see both them and Brethren, the support, all hanging around for ages after, chatting and signing.
 
This week I've got Rapid Aye Movement (REM cover band) on Friday at cumberland arms in Ouseburn then off to Leeds on Saturday for an Ist Ist album launch show and hoping it finishes early enough to catch Bruce Foxton at Leeds Uni afterwards.
 
Ohhh I took the niblings to Cabaret on NYE and recommend that, not really a gig.

I did take them to see the Pixies too but it was very very loud 😵‍💫

Went to the Wilson Robertson Masters match and did the VIP bit so I could squeal away.

Coming up I have Playboy of the Western World on Valentine's Day, then Stewart Lee in June and Blindboy in October

Freddie Halkon on Friday at Newc Uni, altho at the minute im only a taxi driver as my daughter has managed to promise my ticket to her mate......so anyone hear of any spares pls let me know!
