Early leavers and final whistle on Sunday

I disagree. As been said, Villa were only a goal down the other day and there was a lot more empty seats there towards the end. A main factor is lack of infrastructure regarding public transport out of Sunderland after 9pm. Of course that’s not the only reason but, if you’re driving, you’d rather not be stuck in their A roads late in a week night.

It honestly doesn’t bother me whatsoever and I’ve never been an early leaver. I always stay it in the end.

He’s even admitted it on this very thread - along with at least another he’s started on exactly the same topic.
I presume he lives overseas.
I kind of understand it if we’re 0-3 down or something, minging when we’re 3-0 up though IMO. Just makes us look like we don’t care. The players must think wtf.
Btw it’s impossible not to notice when your view is blocked by a load of people streaming out.

Of course they won’t man. 40-odd thousand pay their money and turn-up to support them every week.
Seeing the video of them in the tunnel, it certainly doesn’t seem like it affects them in any way whatsoever.

Like said no problem if your on metro system or live Newcastle, different story for Durham lads and further afield like billingham stockton hartlepool blackhall , the public transport is pathetic
give me a message and you can sleep at mine next night game

Exactly. I don’t even notice as watching what’s happening on that big of grass in the middle.
Bet these people are all members of their local neighbourhood watch.
Before the away fans were moved, I used to sit in the SWC. Lad next to me turned up 10 minutes after kickoff, wandered off 10 minutes before half time, and maybe saw 5 minutes at most of the second half. He's paid his money and can decide how he interacts with the game.

For me, the pissy-pants nature of people complaining about empty seats, early leavers, etc., says the person complaining has an intrinsic fault they dislike about themselves.

Anyway, ha'way the fùcking lads.

Bet they prefer 40k still in the stadium singing WMS at the end rather than 10k.

Anyway let’s hope it’s just a blip and everyone is back on form vs Liverpool.

Work in the morning is a ridiculous excuse for any grown adult
Loads of people have to get up at 5-6am, why would you make yourself even more tired all tomorrow when the game was done and dusted?

It's mad how many perpetually online people are obsessed with how things look to other clubs fans. Proper insecure, bugger what they think.
I go to every home game and always stay til the end. We’ve had an issue with early leavers for years, when I watch other games on TV it’s rarely as bad as SOL unless the home team is getting thrashed. As I say, it’s been good this season but crept back in again recently unfortunately.
So what are you saying? Sunderland fans are worse fans than most other clubs? Or is it because we the sol is particularly bad to leave or has bad transport/road links?

Odds on the OP lives in Sunderland, and is maybe a little bit blinkered to fact that there are thousands travelling into Sunderland from much further afield.

I've literally just got back to the Scottish Borders after tonight's game - happy as fook, until I read this post

It makes us look tinpot like. Don’t recall many leaving vs Arsenal or playoff semi which were also night matches. Kids must have been off school and adults off work then.
Arsenal was a 5.30 kick off, so plenty of time for people like myself to get the train back.

As per my previous post, an 8pm kick off leaves you less than 20 mins to get from the SOL to the station to get the last train at 22.06, and that's with zero added time.

Just have a think before you have a good twist on.

I left on 88 mins with 2 kids as we were getting picked up and wanted them home for a reasonable bed time before school, sorry if that bothers anyone. Getting sick of seeing all these midweek fixtures yet we never seem to have them in school holidays!

Most folk leaving in SWC were lads / blokes no kids in tow

Poor really, kills the atmosphere, looks shite.

leaving on 91 with 3 mins to go, ha’way man 3 mins 🤷‍♂️ to wait to applaud the team you came to support win the match
You actuality stood and watched who was leaving?
Currently watching thousands streaming out here mind - entitled to do as they want but it’s just weird
Time to watch the crowd, then time to text.
Did you watch the game?

Time to tell Sky&co to do one - they won't but at least we can say to anyone that will listen that late, late KO times are not compatible with most of the local public transport system.
