He was decent today. That hybrid role worked much better with Diarra starting though. It allowed him to bomb forward with Hume just tucking in to protect. Makes much more sense in that scenario.

Thought he had a corker of a game. I wouldn’t play him as a like-for-like swap in Xhaka’s position which is a very central pivot but tonight playing on that RW/RWB position I thought he was excellent. Made up for that West Ham horror show.

I think he basically fills in RB when Mukiele goes directly on the overlap, we’ve scored a few like that recently

Mukiele completed 40 of his 48 passes. Alderete 25 out of 32. Hume managed 28 from 41. Just saying, it stands out as an area of his game that needs work.

When we didn't have the ball he was RB, try paying attention. He also dropped in when we attacked to allow Mukiele to move into the RW space.

To be fair I think he did everything he could with that one. Should have done better against palace but that was great defending today.

Big difference tonight was he had Diarra inside of him rather than him covering RW and RCM.

Alderete made 6 passes into the final third, Mukiele 7 and Hume 14.
It wasn't like for like, Hume was further forward and playing more adventurous passes.

Regis got it absolutely spot on. Diarra, Hume and Mukiele all played very well. Hume involved in the first goal, Hume covering allowed Mukiele to bomb on which led to the 2nd goal.
