Patrick Roberts to Birmingham compendium

Good signing for Birmingham if they've got him permanently. His dribbling is absolutely outstanding but his final ball for us was frustrating to say the least at times and the amount of shots he scuffed after doing the hard work 😂

See he's got more goals than he did for us last season already and half the assists with 23 less appearances. Birmingham have clearly found a way to get more from him. Fair play.

He's effectively got 18 months left on his contract, he's a very good Championship player, we'll get at least a couple of million.
Pretty much what we payed city for him in that weird transfer we had with them. Wish him every luck, might be one of the most frustrating players I’ve seen play for us. Can look premier league level and league one level in on game. Was a bright light in those dark days at the Sol though and okayed apart in taking us up through the leagues so will always have a place here with fans.

Can we buy Roberts?
Yes, but just have him, for nowt. We’ll sort out the compo too. In fact we’ll cover the wages for 2.5 years as well.
Some people are mad with their negativity!

Maybe he's just become a better player

Birmingham are also mid table side, he played in two play off championship sides here where teams set up to stop us especially when they came to the Sol. Way easier to play in a side like Birmingham where teams come at them where as the teams coming to the Sol just sat back deep and men behind the ball.

That's what I thought but others think he has 18 months left,
No 6 months with an option for another year, so we would have to take up that option to have 18 months left. If we then leave him on loan til the summer he is replaced or injured we then have him for another year or find another buyer / loan. Or don't take up the option and he leaves for nothing. No doubt the option will include a signing on fee / bonus for him aswell. Is that worth all the hassle? Small fee, wages off the books say thanks and bye, everyone wins.
