Chelsea are talking to a few clubs, including Sunderland about a loan for that George at the moment. Why haven't these talks been shunned and the player just sent to Sunderland first dibs?

Well I hope we play hardball with Liverpool. After they loaned us a crock last year and seeing we are playing them soon I wouldn’t be making it easy for them. Big chunk of money or off you fuck baldy.
 
There's a couple of posters posting non stop on this thread thinking it's the end of our time in the premier league. Absolutely mental. The club WILL have a replacement lined up, and If not the move to Liverpool just won't happen. It's really straightforward

Basically what we played against Palace but with Diarra instead of Xhaka. Also the shape we should have played last weekend if Geerty had been picked. Not at all ideal but a bed Reg has made for himself to an extent.

Be disappointing to lose him. Had really hoped we'd turn it into a permanent signing as looks a great player. Thought it was strange he wasnt involved on Saturday but perhaps the club had an understanding this was going to happen.

Either way our squad is paper thin, hes extremely versatile, and none of the areas where we're really stretched in have been addressed in January. Losing him without a like for like replacement (would be extremely hard to do) and without addressing xhaka back up and winger situation would leave us noticeably weaker.

Sadiki not going to work in the middle
Diarra is probably not going to be able to last if he does out on his feet by the end
Adingra is well Adingra
Mundle has done OK but still has a lot of learning to do
Talbi the same but is more forward and a better player atm.

Its a bit of a reality check really people have got carried away by our league position imho. Not bad for a newly promoted team but shows how much investment is still needed.

There isn't unfortunately. Really hope we can bring somebody in in the next 30 hours or so that can play the holding role, at least going forward until Xhaka is available again.

If we’ve paid a loan fee for the year he is effectively our player for a year, I’d like to think we’d be compensated some how. If they pay say £20m for him on 4 year deal then he’s worth £5m per season. We should be due some of that really.

It's nonsense you think doing someone a favour automatically neglects all other clubs. One example may be Sunderland are offering a squad role position for George whereas an inferior club may be offering regular starter...

To add, having a good rapport gives you more pull. Having a bad rapport then Sunderland wouldn't even be in with a chance. That's the difference.

When they haven’t cost us goals they have been unbelievable Hume has just been ok. It’s all about standards mine are higher than yours but that’s ok.
