I cannot see why the club let Dan Neil go if they knew Gerty was leaving ,hopefully a link breaks today on another midfielder,Calvin Phillips come on down 😉
 
Worst bit is it will feel like losing 3 players. Let’s jus hope that financially it’s all works in our favour because it’s gonna be hard to keep him away from Liverpool.
 
Zero point digging in our heels if Liverpool are in for him he wants to go (understandable really)

He’s not our player, while showing some promise he’s not irreplaceable either.

Let’s hope the club move fast on players we’ve identified who can fill the gap in the squad without loosing quality… busy day or so ahead!
 
We're okay at CB, basically got 3 good options plus Hume, Onien, Reinildo if needed.

CM suddenly looking thin after letting Neil go though. Don't think Riggy is physically ready for the prem yet. Xhaka out for at least the next 3 weeks.

Mukiele would go CB and Hume to RB. We would need 2 injuries for O’Nien to be starting games.
 
It’s a real shame like, he’s a very good player and should’ve played more. It made no sense not playing him and crowbaring Hume in a position. Haha can’t get into the Sunderland side yet wanted by Liverpool don’t think we’d see that anytime soon. We really need someone in if this happens though we’d be well short having let Neil go too.

I never mentioned starting. I wouldn't even want him coming off the bench with an injury.

Also, what happens if Regis sticks to his back 5 system for them bigger teams? He used geertruida in them.

Liverpool will want him to do the same stuff for them. There’s value in a player who can do a job all over the place - particularly when you’re playing 70 games a season. He’s a Joe Gomez replacement to them.

We can rule out Hume and O’Nien as good centre back options at premier league level.
 
Bugger, the versatility this lad offers the squad in being able to reliably slot in in numerous positions is second to none really.

He may not be first team name but that’s a big loss to our squad if he goes. Was really hoping we would sign him tbh
 
With all this going on, it shows how far down the pecking order Dan Neil was. Roefs would have started in centre mid before Neil.
