Geertruida

Whatever the possibilities and mechanisms behind this, it would be a huge fuck up on our part to have lost a player of Geertruides class when we had him . Its been plain as a pikestaff we'd found a very very good player and whatever the outcome weve fucked on. The possibility of Slott wanting him has been voiced since day one .
First time I've been this annoyed with our process since Mvilla and that includes the bad times .

I think we are all disappointed as when he has played he has done enough, especially during afcon to keep a place in the side. The flip side is we fans don’t know how long this has been going on the interest from Liverpool and that would have unsettled him. As for the ins and outs out Geetruidas deal here I don’t know what will happen as we have him on a loan to buy. Those suggesting the club have dropped a bollock like the rest of us mere fans don’t know what goes on behind closed doors and for all we know they could have been actively trying to sign him up, but the player might not have bought into it. And let’s be honest as much as we are getting carried away with the season and the players we have signed when a club like Liverpool come knocking it’s game over. As soon as I heard this my instant reaction was is t he very good pals with Brobbey and signed together etc. Isak out long term injured and Liverpool with money to burn. Wouldn’t surprise me if they bid for him as well.

It’s ok as *checks notes* Trai feckin Hume is the way to go 😂 jokes aside as I love Trai, it’s bizarre how we’ve not played this bloke more given he’s looked really assured whenever he has 🤷🏻‍♂️ last weekend especially

I don’t see how we come out of this in our favour?

Could we potentially not just activate the buy clause and then tell Liverpool we want £50m and if they refuse he’s ours?
Well firstly all three clubs and the player would have to agree to this and obviously wouldn’t.

And secondly I don’t think this is the way we operate as a club.

It seems like we are about building and maintaining strong relationships with the top clubs, being cooperative with players and ‘doing the right thing’.

Swings and roundabouts, if you’re good to deal with you’ve more chance of getting good players, as we have done.

I agree he should have started but if this has been going on for some time I think that’s likely why he didn’t. I don’t understand the logic behind why he didn’t play but could be more behind the scenes that we aren’t aware of.
100% mate. Reckon this one has been known by the club for a while. It is gutting, but we just want to make sure that we 1. Have someone lined up to replace him 2. Receive a large financial recompense. We need to set a marker down, that we will sell, but it wont be for peanuts.

People make a bigger deal out of things like this and Neil's contract than they are. No reason at all for him not to play even if something was lined up.

We played Tommy Watson when we knew he was leaving, we played Jobe Bellingham even though the club had let him go to Germany the week before and the week after the play off finak, we played Seelt twice even though it was already lined up for him go on loan, we played Roberts at Burnley right before we let him go, Clarke played right up until he was going.

Head in hands tomorrow night when we get an injury and o'nien comes on
Why? O’Nien was brilliant away to Everton and Marked Thierno Barry out the game in his first start in over 6month. Same Barry who had scored same amount of goals as Brobbey. Onien isn’t realistically a first choice prem CB but id have no problem him coming on tomorrow to mark Burnley centre forwards. Strange to bash O’Nien in a thread about Geertrudia potentially leaving

We don’t know what’s been going on in the background with Geertruida. He might have been contacted a while ago about the possibility of a move to Liverpool and may have spat the dummy out demanding to leave. Hence why he’s not featured last week or many other games.
This is just supposition but how it might explain his lack of game time.

We don’t know if we could trigger the clause this January

Some of our fans don’t half shit themselves when we hit a bump in the road like this.

I fear for the mental health of some on here when the vultures start circling Roefs, Sadiki etc.
We'll get a massive fee for both. We might get fuck all for Geertruida and play Harrison Jones. Still it's a laugh ain't it:D:D:D

What about the 2 games after that against arsenal and liverpool? O'nien is relevant to this thread because he was the beneficiary in our last game because he didn't bring Geertruida on.

We can't afford to have o'nien as the next in line like.
