Harry Brook all-rounder

I haven't said the behaviour is fine but personal stuff is childish also people should be able to learn from there mistakes, you admire Steve Smith and he's done plenty wrong yet people would drop duckett and brook
Criticism,or abuse ,as you term it,is personal -it's directed at an individual. You view it as childish? You're entitled to your opinion.
Some of the behaviour of the team is extremely irresponsible and immature i.e. childish. That's my opinion.
Smith got dropped -Justifiably.
Duckett regressed again after a final warning.
Brook has expressed regret. Hopefully it's genuine and sincere.

gonna stick up for him abit

he has apologised, fined, move on and learn.

They are just about to go on another 7 week tour

I know its a great job, but Brook will have been at home for 1 week from October to March

That is canny insane, and he also turned down a million quid in the IPL and got banned for 2 years.

Times reporting a curfew and al that coming in, I don't agree myself.

The stick Brook gets is ridiculous I think, way over the top, the majority of his dismisalls in this series were not attacking shots even.

Sounds like one extreme to the other really

Defs, the NZ one is shite obviously, day before a game man

But hes a nice lad, and he has committed to English cricket (paid well I admit).

Did you enjoy Perth btw? I was banned so couldnt message you haha. Had a great time there despite the 2 day test!
Yeah thanks enjoyed what there was of the cricket. Shame I didn't see at least another day but gave me chance to have a good explore of the area. Went right up the coast to the Pinnacles which was amazing. Such a vast country and proper wilderness which we just don't have here apart from maybe the north of Scotland. Rottnest was nice but a bit of a honeypot. Fremantle too. Really liked Mandurah as well, little harbour town on a river to the south of Perth. Train system was great for getting around too. Can certainly see why people move out there. Just a great lifestyle without the hustle and bustle and people always seeming to be in a mad, angry rush like here.

Yeah shame we never got chance to meet up but found plenty of lads to crack on with as you do (including a Sunderland fan).

Never really had much time for the Aussies but they were great too tbf.

Brilliant, sounds class that. Yeah I agree, 1 more day would have been nice wouldnt it, tbf as much to do with Travis Head as with England I guess.

Totally agree with you on the style of life, was very envious, not sure how to word it, but you can just enjoy life naturally, and at the right pace, without trying to force things.

Mandurah is a great spot yeah.

Ended up doing fair few wineries on Margaret River, what a place.

Worrying but not unsurprising

More carry on the same way on the field lads is the message from above.

This guy should have put up Head numbers with his starts but his lack of brain got in the way.

Does this guy want to be an ATG or just a good player. He's got all the talent to be an ATG.

Similar start to Marnus who was a very lucky cricketer.

This guy is even more lucky and it wouldn't surprise me if he did have a drop off unless someone screws his head on the field as much as off the field.

I'm beginning to feel sorry for the lad. He's a naturally talented cricketer but has been given responsibilities as a captain and hence frequently addressing the media. He's clearly not sufficiently experienced or qualified for these extra responsibilities. The criticism should be directed at Key and McCullum for giving him these duties which are currently clearly beyond him.

I know it is an accepted standard practice PR thing but the statement about this, that has been penned for him, is so obviously not authored by him that it is self defeating.

TBH I'm not really bothered that he lied.

At least his altercation with a bouncer didnt end in tragedy like it did with David Hookes.
