Thank you Dan Neil

He captained us through one of the greatest few weeks I’ve ever had supporting The Lads.
Love him.

Neil (and Cirkin) trying to extract themselves back out of the South Stand after Ballard's goal is a joy.

After the final whistle against Palace - Xhaka, Le Fee and Nordi were walking around the pitch, applauding the remaining fans.
Neil was also walking a way off doing a bit of an applause also, I wondered about that.
Pity he couldn't have had a send off, would have been a bit of a moment.

All the best Dan. Top lad. RAWA.

He’ll be in the same situation next summer if Ipswich get promoted.

Nevertheless, all the best Dan!
I suppose that depends if Ipswich adopt a similar approach to the one we did last summer (if they have the means to do so).
History suggests not so every chance he’ll at least get an opportunity.

Looks like he’s gone and with the loan lasting the period of his contract it’s clear he’s kicked his last ball for the club.

Thank you Dan, you lived the dream, played for your boyhood club. Helped drag it from its lowest ebb. Won at Wembley the place of that famous picture of you in the crowd in 2014.

You always give your all, you captained the side in some tough times but played a big part in putting the club back to where we all think it should be.

Good luck in the future I hope we someday see you back at the Sol on the pitch in the premier league. Thank you for two of the best moments I’ve had following Sunderland those two play off final wins. All the best lad always red and white.
Good luck at Ipswich, thanks for the memories and what memories they are...

Plough it out of the park

Good luck DN!

Glad it’s happened now Esther than the summer he needs some football and missing the whole season would have been a waste for a relatively young lad. It’ll be interesting to see how much football he gets at Ipswich, they are in the middle of a promotion battle and can’t afford to carry players whilst getting them up to speed.

How come nobody is taking a punt on sig ing him permanently? I know his contracts up, but it's virtually giving him away.

He hasn't gone yet either

Good luck DN!

Esther

There was a video where players were asked "who's the thickest in the squad" and they all said "Dan Neil".

I'm sure the truth of all this will come out eventually but as things stand he'll go with everyone's best wishes.
Haha, well that’s pretty damning, but I guess I meant in football IQ. Genuinely think he was able to take on a lot tactically and had a good assessment of the game.

I loved him playing for us. I enjoy watched him played during his time for us in the championship/league 1. Classy midfielder. So I'll watch ipswich more because of him. Its so much fun to watch him played.

Hope the supportive sentiments expressed make it through to Dan.
Was loyal when there may have been more lucrative opportunities to move on .
All the best, Dan
