ID checks for away tickets

Seems they use the same principle for home games. Allowed to pass on for a few games then thats it and you run risk of losing season card.

What happens if you have a prolonged period of being ill.
Being able to sell on your home season ticket is a boom as per this season. Obviously there is a £100 ceiling per ticket resold. But by the time you have given it away a few times it allows you to ensure the seat is not empty.

So Iam in this situation now. I buy 3 tickets and one can’t go at the moment.
Because of the £100 limit I am giving that spare ticket to friends on an ad hoc basis by simply scanning them in on my phone.
If I was selected for ID check I could prove I bought the tickets (it’s in the online account) but not that I was the person named on the ticket ( my daughter)
I Assume the person I am scanning in would not have to provide ID ???

When do the emails usually come through for the away ticket ID checks, all before ticket office closes at 5/6 etc or random, always the day before as well?

Seems to be in the evening , best bet would be always bring some ID with you just incase

You only find out you've been selected for an ID check at the turnstiles if it goes red and denies entry.

i was under the impression there are no more emails, you just find out when you get there
Surely they can’t do that. What happens if you rock up on time, to a strange place & are rejected for a ID check? People will say you should turn up early, but travelling the country doesn’t make it easy to time.

That’s shite that like

Yep. Happened to me at Spurs. Only one wife working behind the counter, ridiculously slow without a care in the world. I got into the ground a couple of minutes before Spurs took the lead  Class eh

i completely agree, its just another example of the club treating loyal fans like absolute shite.

they could, very easily, send you an email or text on the morning of the game. at least a bloke with his bairn could just go straight to ticket office to sort it out. they started doing this at man city and brighton away but seemingly even that inconvenience wasn't inconvenient enough

It'll be to prevent people from making alternative arrangements.

What are you supposed to do if travelling with a child?

Let the child go in first and risk having to leave them alone in the ground, or you go in first and risk them being stuck outside?

Exactly. I always push my kids in first.

From a safeguarding point of view they have left themselves open to a whole world of shit if a child ends up getting separated from the adult and god forbid something went wrong.
Not against id checks but very surprised it's not been better though out with regards to this matter.

It's very easily rectified, just give people the heads up and hour or two before the game

That way any parent can go to the ticket office first . It would cover the club from safeguarding perspective too

And, it's just the right thing to do with regards to showing some respect to the fans

That's why the club won't do it. It's like they are trying to punish us for some reason, or trying to catch us out

This, the plan has been thought out by somebody with vengeance and disruption rather than safety in mind.

A very good idea, a text 2 hours before ko to the registered account holders phone.
