Absolutely this, I was only heading one way in there and it was to a permanent self exit.

Chance came up just after the pandemic and despite being a huge pay cut, the better hours, benefits and ability to plan my own time off and start doing my own thing won out in the end despite being terrified of change being there over a decade.

Bet on myself and now 4 years on, have a good job in the same company I left for, much higher pay than I was worried about leaving, freedom to what i want to keep my mental health right and running my own team.
The more important thing was being around a supportive management structure to help me grow, I can’t underestimate how much difference that makes to have the opportunities and people both at a higher level and around you, showing that faith in you.

I dip into it from time to time and have never worked there.
They're a huge employer for the City and nearly everyone knows someone who works there, of course people are interested.

Didn't think the thread was meant for current employees only

Why?

It's a massive supplier of jobs for our region directly and in the supply line so naturally it's of interest to people.

Like saying the shipyards are shut, never mention or comment on them again
 
If Dongfeng want to build cars in Europe which it will do, it'll be down line 1 at NMUK - who are heavily invested in Dongfeng

I retired almost 3 years ago after 35 years of fun there!! and its the best thing I ever did...
Had a health scare but I would not go back for double the money now, its a great feeling being retired and still getting paid off Nissan...
Of course they will miss you but other than the good lads and the crack take it from me you will not miss them or look back... 👍
