James Minto

If he’s fit he should play every game. Get him prioritised.
He had a torrid season last season like.

But for a 17 year old with the weight of his personal situation to deal with.

It's not exactly a fair thing to label against him. But still the facts of the situation.

I hope he can have a big impact this season. Plenty of talent there.

Edit: looks like he's started 2026 class. Great to see after them two openers for India U19 absolutely pasted him in the summer.

I am really concerned for the futures of Minto and Hogg. There's something seriously wrong with our bowling coaching.

I don't think you'll find many who disagree with your view.

Rather than try to nurse players through a season, overmanaging their workloads, I'd like to see Minto bowl as much as he can this year. He doesn't seem to have that very heavy delivery stride which seems to shorten some bowler's careers.

Hogg looks a different kettle of fish. He just doesn't seem comfortable in his body and it always looks doubtful he'll finish the over he is bowling. Not sure what you can do about it.

Thing is they could have rotated Minto with Killeen, who took a five fer in the chance he got, and not risked their fitness. Instead we sign unfit ex-internationals and a second division journeyman and relegated anyway.

How our coaches kept their job after that season is amazing.

He played in the second U19 game for England today against Zimbabwe.

Nothing spectacular- bowled 8 overs, 0/43.

Bloody hell he's rapid for a 17 year old.

He's tall and gangly and thin. He looks like a teenager who has just had a spurt of growth and hasn't worked out how to handle his new body properly.

I think just give him time and maybe as he grows stronger he'll handle it better.
