James Minto

I thought we already had a thread for this lad but couldn't find one.

Anyway he's been picked for England U19s test & ODI squads to play South Africa.

Well deserved.

Saw him bowl for the Seconds v Yorkshire in their rain affected 3 day game at Burnopfield last season, Aged 16 he had a smooth run-up, nice high right arm and the perfect left armer's follow through producing bounce and movement, If managed well he has the credentials to do really well

Aah yes - that was the game when the sun was shining and the umpires couldnt be arsed to start the game until after lunch.

Young Minto has come on leaps and bounds.

He's got a younger brother called Teddy who's in the Durham age groups teams , Probably the under 16's this coming season . At the Burnopfield game I'm sure Badger told me they originate from Norton CC

I’ve played against them both in Langbaurgh league and similar to Yash Vagadia who’s at Yorkshire, you could just tell they ‘had it’ even as kids.

Good news this, can only help him with his development in the long run. Given the prospect that several of our seamers will be involved over the summer in the Ashes I’d say it’s very likely he gets more game time for the first team this year.

Is there any coverage of this tour aside from the usual scorecards on BBC/cricinfo…?

Could make this the official tour thread
