Nissan

Anyone telling me overtime cancelled. I wouldn't complain, ill be celebrating. Coming out with bullshit saying not booking anywhere or planning stuff your kids is pathetic excuse. If you booking somewhere or planning to do something with your kids. you plan it early and you tell them you not doing the overtime. Too many people in that factory just accept they have to do the overtime every day.

So you think it’s fair if you told your children you can’t see them and they have made alternative plans now you can see them? But they aren’t available because you said your at work ? or you were supposed to be going away somewhere but you didn’t book it because your working now your not working and now you can’t go as it’s too late etc etc etc it’s great of you sit in your room playing computer games every weekend it doesn’t really effect you
Maybe try and think of some ideas to improve things and put them forward. Its Negs year after all

Maybe if you stuck with your baby mama you'd see your kids everyday instead of just weekends 😉

Jesus wow what a f***ing cock
Has it not been like that for years though?
They to cancel overtime last minute for parts shortages, work needed on the line or change in numbers needed.
Used to annoy me more when they would put it on at the last minute or when you only found out you were doing overtime because the line didn’t stop at the end of your shift.
Long time ago now so things might have changed, doesn’t sound like ito much has though
Not on a Saturday
Cancelling Saturdays is a whole new thing only ever happened few times midweek isn’t a problem to me weekends is a different ball game it’s really f***ing people about

How is it even possible you don’t see your kids for 3 weeks ? Do they live down the country or something ? If it was me and I wasn’t seeing my kids for that long id be changing career and prioritising kids over cash, that’s just me but I’d be looking for a more family friendly career if a last minute change of overtime meant I wouldn’t see my kids. No offence to you but I couldn’t go that long without seeing my children

Is the overtime mandatory for everyone or just those who owe time?

I don't work at Nissan or any of the suppliers but they seem to just have their own rules that probably wouldnt be accepted anywhere else, why do people stay as the money doesnt even sound too good for the damage to your body and mental health now. Btw I don't expect people to just walk out on a Friday with nothing else lined up but there seems to be people working there for years, it cant be healthy.

I assume you don't work for Nissan or any of its suppliers then?

Recently left. No working life balance at all there and ran by clowns. There were some good lads I worked with for a bit of a laugh.
You feeling better for it? I’m thinking of jacking it in. Sick of the place now. Was hoping maybe a recap but can’t see that coming now.

I left after 19 years and the energy I have now is mental I wasn't very well and still am not great but symptoms have halfed since leaving less stress less unsociable working hours .. better sleeping patterns more family time . nissan gave me a platform for a mortgage a car many holidays so can't fault the place for Job security but it's the best thing I've ever done took the plunge

I’m probably the same grateful for the house I live in and being stable for so long but a stable income doesn’t justify what they put people through.
I don’t think the place will last long now if I’m honest, the oldies telling us about the mines and the shipyards, I think that will be all of us with our grandkids talking about about Nissan in years to come.

Just test the water , look through some job pages apply for a few and you never know what might happen

Yeh you loose some decent benefits ie health care ect but go to work out a better work/ life balance. Do some budgeting and see what you can afford to lose and stay comfortable, there's nothing wrong in throwing a fee applications around and just seeing what happens
