Burnley Forum

Ok well humour me for a minute.
Let’s pretend Burnley and Brentford both have an offer accepted for a player from another country. They are both well run and both currently mid-table. They also both offer the same wage and length of contract.
Do you not think the player would be more likely to choose Brentford due its location?

I think Manchester and Cheshire are fairly big pulls for players

Bournemouth - Promoted
Bournemouth PL - Sacked after 4 games
Club Brugge - Sacked after only 12 games
Burnley - Promoted
Burnley PL - 3 wins from 20 games

Criticised both Fulham and Bournemouth while manager for having no plan - both went on to become ‘established’ PL clubs after sacking him.

He is the modern Mick McCarthy. He’ll get you out of the Championship, but you need to sack him quickly or he’ll take you back there!

That was also that feeling towards Daniel Farke at Leeds who i think had similar records with Norwich. He looks like he may break that cycle this year

Be interesting to see how he'd do with a Championship club that didn't have a gargantuan advantage in terms of wage bill and budget.

When he went to 5 at the back it was if it had finally dawned upon him to adapt. He was well on his way to making the same mistakes before they hit that bit of form. The fans were turning anarl.

They'll get beat tonight.

Yep. They signed players to play a direct style, yet he wouldn't change his system, and was widely reported to be a poor result against Chelsea away from the sack.

He finally changed with that hanging over him as a last roll of the dice and they've put a good run together.

Leeds fans were pretty much unanimous wanting him out prior to the Chelsea game, despite the backtracking now.

Roefs probably won't have many easier games in his career than he had tonight. That was one of the worst performances I've seen from a visiting side since we were in League One
0.06 xG, not a single shot on target, literally couldn't have had less to do.

Also interestingly, there have been 12 occasions this season where a team failed to record a shot on target. Burnley are responsible for 4 of them.
