Patrick Roberts to Birmingham compendium

Seelt is a highly rated young centre half tbf. Still think he can be decent for us if we decide to keep him.
I thought he was decent when he played in fairness, also got laughed at for saying he would be in the 15mil bracket if he had a decent loan.

I just dont see how he breaks into our team anytime soon with ballard, alderete, then mukiele and geertruida both as options too. I have nothing against the lad but i cant see it happening in this league. I think a slower pace league like Germany just suits him really well.

Why would Birmingham pay a fee? He's there til the end of the season then out of contract.
Because he is free at the end of the season. A team going down might offer big wages and then Birmingham dont get the player. Some clubs pay the fee rather than risk not acquiring the player at all. The competition for him in the summer, should he keep playing like this, would be higher. He would also probably request a decent signing fee or wages, knowing they dont have to pay a transfer fee. It might be 3million or so now, but if he was free he might demand say 8-10k a week more in wages, plus a signing fee, itll eat into a fair chunk of that 3mil anyways. Agents love these scenarios and rinse clubs in the process

The last minute winner at Hillsborough to get us to Wembley, two superb play-off final performances and his link-up play with Amad was a big factor in the most exciting attacking football a lot of us have seen from a Sunderland side.

Yes he definitely has his flaws but he played a massive role in our rise up the leagues and should be remembered with nothing but huge fondness by every Sunderland fan.

Had real value from him.

Sheff wed goal
Amad partnership

The real question is how much can he realistic add to our coffers?

Yeah there will be a growing list of ex players who served the club well by getting us to the Premier League. Hopefully they have played a big part in setting us up a PL club for years to come.
It would be nice if in the future the club did something to commemorate or mark their service, and hopefully they will be welcomed back with open arms if they want to come and watch us anytime

As long as it’s not giving them tickets in the away end. 😜

What sort of fee will we be looking for? I reckon a couple of million, will be shocking if we just let him go on a free.

This is a club that paid £15million+ for a player while in league one.
