Jack Clarke

We're back to Sunderland fans begging for former players or managers to return i see. Theres no other set of fans that do it as much.

He isn't good enough for us now and we have moved on and into a better market of player. He's still spending plenty of time at Ipswich on the bench.

Maybe his agent did him a favour and got him PL wages when we knew after he played Newcastle he would struggle.
Class for us in the championship but pleased he’s not in our squad now.
I half agree, his agent got him premier league football when it was on offer. Speakman said Ipswich were the only team to bid for him.

However I can never get on board with judging people on the Mags game. We were on a downward spiral as a team. We had Michael Beale in charge. Ballard had an afternoon he’d like to forget despite being my player of the year last year & missing large amounts of the following promotion season. Hume got ripped apart despite showing he’s a Premier League player this year. On the logic of that game, the first goal showed Hume or Ballard should be nowhere near our team now.

I’ll also through in some players lift their game when they’re playing with better players.

Turned his back on us against all footballing logic other than instant money.
No thank you now.
Not sure many people without red & white eyes would agree with that like. I think it’s fair to say it was very questionable whether Ipswich would be playing in the premier league a year later, but I’m not sure the most optimistic of us expected to gain so many points & even have the luxury of f***ing off 4/5 games to prepare for the play offs.

With hindsight, he’d have been better off signing a contract.

He barely got a game for Ipswich in the premier league and we’ve signed a far higher quality of player. Not a chance we should be looking at him.

Don’t begrudge him leaving, it was his best chance at playing in the premier league, but he’s not good enough.

I'd have him back in Jan. He was mint. Really good.
Not just because his output (key stats) was always phenomenal, but he was relentless. As much as his goals, my main memories of him are skipping round 4, 5, 6 tackles to win a foul in the 95th minute to wrap up
Yes he was all of that what you mention,,,,,,but that was in the championship which is his level. We are top end premier league which is not his level.

Love Jack Clarke. Was brilliant for us.

He wouldn't even get on the bench for us these days.

Agreed. He's barely getting a game for Ipswich. 9 starts in the league this season.

True. Still think he's mint from what I saw barely a year ago.
Like, he was way better than Hume and Ballard....
Not at being a right back or centre back he wasn’t or isn’t

We’d also probably have given automatics a way higher shot with him in the side. He was literally one of the best players in the division playing at the top of his game here. I really think we’d have pushed the top three a lot harder with him in the squad. It made zero sense other than to fatten his and his agents bank balance. We all knew they’d come back down it wasn’t even in question. Now he barely gets a good run and hasn’t played to his strengths in his entire time there. Stupid move for the lad always was.

Cant get a game in the championship yet some knacker thinks he’s good enough for us now ? Hes a top end championship player, nothing more nothing less. Not fit to tie Mundles boots man.

Surely he looked at their squad and the way McKenna plays (and never deviates from) before the move? Davis will always be his left wing back.

He’s been in the top flight twice now and failed to get a game both times. He’s consigned to being nothing more than a good Championship player now, sadly. Still needs to get away from Ipswich, mind,
