Leeds 28/12/25 thread

Wont be one of our easiest games this season. They are on good form and will be on a high after palace. Personally want to see rigg dropped for isidor. Play 2 up front with 2 wingers. Brobbey is excellent and holdup play and Isidor can run in behind. Think it’s too early to put Mayenda straight into starting 11 as he may not be a little sloppy after being on bench for a while…

Looking at fixtures coming up,
Leeds be back in bottom 3 by end of January.

We don’t score many goals and all of our wins since game 1 have been by the odd goal. Factor in Afcon and Leeds having a decent spell then it’s obvious the game will be close.

Hopefully Leeds players are as over confident as their fans.
Everyone is obsessed with us losing “all their players to AFCON” 🙈 shows they haven’t really payed attention at all. Reinaldo is the biggest miss, just because we have no real like for like replacement. The rest have very good replacements in the side.
We have to go for the win but a draw wouldn’t be a bad result with the run they are on.

We were the better team for the majority of the game away at Brighton. We have more than enough to beat Leeds

If you were the better team against Brighton thats impressive because we certainly were not.

Not sure football is that simple though. Leeds under Farke will play 5-3-2 and defend in depth when out of possesion 3-5-2 when in possesion.

Not really sure what team will be depends on fitness issues, but whoever plays will give 100% Farke still has the players loyalty.

Not sure if our previous away record has any bearing on this game as we were trying and failing to play a possesion based 4-3-3.

The only away game we have played with 5-3-2 is Brentford who have a similar home record to you and we were like you at Brighton
the better team but only drew.

Predicting football is a mugs game no one expected us to beat Palace 4-1 and we could easily get beat 4-1 at your place, but a scrappy draw or 1-0 win to either side would be my prediction with a derby like game, plenty of passion but not a deal of skill.

I'm sorry like but Afcon does make a big difference. The left back is blatantly obvious as hes sheer class and Sadiki has been close to our best player. Its also cost us good depth off the bench.

Its a good opportunity for others and having the points we have means its not a huge concern but it definitely weakens us more than just our left back.
3-0
2-1
1-0
2-0
2-1
3-2
1-0
So i'm out by one game with the last minute Wolves own goal - was it really worth it? ;)

West Ham
Brentford
Forest
Wolves
Chelsea
Bornemouth

Had we swapped fixtures could see us winning five of those games.

What's that list?

We've beaten all of the above, plus Newcastle.

In those games above, Leeds:

Lost at Forest
Drew with Bournemouth
Drew with Newcastle

You also lost at home to Villa (we drew, and had 10 men for an hour).

You've kept 2 clean sheets all season (both of them months ago), and up until about 2 weeks ago you were heading for relegation and calling for sacking your manager. You've finally won a couple of games, and suddenly Leeds are Pep's Barcelona.

Forgot all about Newcastle. Leeds Newcastle was a fair result. Bornemouth scored with last kick of the game we were by far the better team, Forest was Dyches Forest not the crisis Forest you played and Villa were shit when you played them.

You probably do deserve to be where you are but you really have had a soft start, played teams at the right time and had the rub of the green with injury time goals. Good Luck to you.

I didn’t say it didn’t weaken us, I said it doesn’t weaken us as much as other fans are making out.
