Diarra out till December

Horses for courses pal. He’s a different style of player to le Fée and Sadiki.

Also le Fée could play on the left and so they could feasibly all be selected.
Harsh on LeFee, I get what you’re saying though.
Just think LeFee has stepped up and got better every game when played in the middle. Some of the stuff he does is just magical.
Sadi
I just can’t remember what Diarra brings to the side, it’s been that long.
Sadiki has been immense and obviously Xhaka is unstoppable unless suspended or injured.

Needs to get fit first, but having him let's us rotate him, Sadiki and Le Fee. Keep them all going to the end of the season

Let's face it, at some point Xhaka is going to need a rest.

It's nice to have depth.

Aye, but you could say the same about playing Mukiele at right back when he was absolutely class at centre back. It’s about playing the best overall team.

I agree le Fée has been absolutely class, and I agree that Diara has a battle on his hands to work his way back into the starting lineup. Like you, I also can’t really remember what he brings to the table, but that isn’t to say he doesn’t bring anything, just that I have a shite memory. We didn’t pay the amount we did for him without him being bloody good, and so having him back from injury and at full fitness gives us a lovely dilemma.

As I said, horses for courses. We will be able to pick the best player for the tactics we are playing in each game.

Diarra was one that I had the highest expectations for, but he’s been completely overshadow by how class Xhaka and Sadiki have been. Hopefully we can use the rest of the season to get him back upto speed and he can work on establishing himself for next year. Hes got a real battle on his hands to displace any of our midfield at the moment though.

Yeah - it will be February before he is back and Le Fee will be the player in possession, premier league match fit and connecting well in midfield. Diarra won’t go straight back in and it might be next season where the discussions about our best starting midfield take place.

Zero minutes played in two matches. Utterly him pointless being there for the group stages. Could've been some sort of agreement where he played minutes for us against Leeds and Man City and then joined them for the knockouts. It's not proving beneficial for us at all him being there.

Id be amazed if xhaka is rested for a league game. Our total number of games played this season will be significantly less than many other premier league sides where rotation really is needed to keep them fresh. Maybe sits the everton game out but that'll be it i would have thought unless he picks up an injury or suspension.

Xhaka will play every game no chance he gets rested. This season is a short season for him he’s used to playing 50 games a season
