ID checks for away tickets

And answering your other question, Rocket scientist.

Im here in Brighton, with no ID and no email either.

So guess what.
Im not annoyed at having to carry ID as I don't need it.
Maybe in future games just put your ID in your wallet incase , as if it does happen I'm sure you will be very angry

You've now had 2 warnings it's possible, so I would eliminate the risk

What are you waffling on about now? Absolutely nobody has said you haven't earnt your right to go to away games this season.

And as for ID I suspect the current govt introducing them has really triggered you as its some kind of breach of your civil liberties or something.

You and your incorrect theories Mr Rocket scientist.

Have a great day though.

Ill hopefully bring the 3 points back for you.
Enjoy shopping 😂

No thank you. My right is to not carry ID.

Thanks for your concern though 😂

I dont know why youre chirping on about it being your right to carry ID if you choose to (well it doesn't need a rocket scientist to work out why carrying id has annoyed you). Sometimes in life we need to carry id if we want to do certain things. And whilst its a bit of a pain we may need to carry id if we want to go to the match on occasion. But knowing this you're still not going to do so.
Can’t wait to see this lad trying to tell the lads at passport control that he’s perfectly within his rights not to carry any ID. 😉

It would be good if the club offered a way of transferring the ticket to someone elses account in the event of an emergency and the ticket holder can’t go. Maybe if you do that you give up the black cat point.

Would stop people doing it to build up points and surely must be better than the seat going empty.
when I first read this I thought not, but thinking about it, I think I might agree with you. Its partly the loss off an available ticket that I think is unfair to lower points holders, but mainly the unfair retention of points. Your suggestion gives someone the chance to see the match (not otherwise waste the ticket) but avoids the pain farming. If the tech would allow it.

Think the general consensus of the grown ups is you should be able to transfer a limited number (between 2 and 5 a season) as you can with home tickets. (With the point going to the person ATTENDING the match)

People passing on a ticket to a mate or family member at the last minute are currently treated the same as people who sell their tickets on which isn’t right.

Club need to give people a legitimate way to pass on a limited number of tickets.

There is a small element of that.
But (my opinion I guess), as Ticketmaster/Music Industry has shown and now FIFA with the World Cup ticket prices, its becoming more and more about gouging as much as possible out of "customers" and if there are any third parties making themselves some coin then they want them squeezed out of the equation so that they can have the profits themselves.

SAFC have installed the Ticket Resale option for home games now. Whilst it might not be much, for every ticket resold, they make extra revenue from it. The bigger clubs make a lot more revenue than SAFC as well from such Ticket Resale options.
Reality is, the passing on / reselling of tickets will soon follow the same path and be made (almost) impossible to do unless you follow the official path.

Whilst there are loads on here moaning about people passing on tickets etc, in the +35 years I have been following SAFC, there has always been people asking around for spare tickets and there has always been people willing or able to help out their fellow supporters as best they can. Never has this culture of "I'm a better than someone else" really been too prevalent in my opinion. At least with the changes coming it will satisfy that culture, but at the same time its going to make it real difficult for a lot of very dedicated exiled supporters who often make up a fair number of our away support at the longer distance / London games which will be a real shame (got to know a fair few over the years and they're some top people amongst them).

But as long as we are controlling people and getting more coin out of them then all is good.
But at the same time, there will be people who have a small amount of loyalty points not getting tickets that otherwise could because they're getting hoovered up by point farmers who then pass them on.

Ive been on both sides of it, ive bought resale tickets (gigs im talking) at inflated prices because i couldn't get tickets otherwise but ive missed out on tickets because they've sold out in minutes to bots. I got a ticket for the 3-0 win at Stamford bridge off someone on here and ive gone to loads of games through branch tickets but I can't get tickets meself due to low BP points and it'll be almost impossible to build them up due to that.

No system will be fair - and i hate capitalism as much as the next man, but welcome legislation to make it less easy to abuse the system - both by individuals and corporations, i hate ticketmaster as much as anyone
Going to be some meltdown when Barney gets pulled for an ID check.
Reckon he keeps all his money under a mattress?

Did you travel down there over our flat earth?

It is a flat earth.
And Covid was a ploy 😂😂

In simple terms for you.

If I don't want to carry my ID. I wont.

Im not a sheep. Im a shepherd 😊
I hope so much im outside the away end to witness him screaming into a stewards face that its his right not to carry ID.

Oh. You still "worried" about me.

Let me guess. Your that person who also complains over people leaving the game early.

I dont have the energy to get as stressed over such minor issues.

Communication seems to be far from ideal here but I’d imagine after the Man City emails and the 60 page thread on here that they provoked, most going down will have taken ID with them anyway to be of the safe side. No problem slipping your driving licence in your pocket and the young uns carry it anyway to access pubs etc.
The majority of our support don't use this site.
Lots of our support don't have driving licenses and I would be pretty uneasy about my son taking my / his passport (he has my ticket today as I had an op yesterday and too ill to travel again)

Its only an issue if you are not the intended holder of the ticket.
It's only an issue if you are not the intended holder of the ticket or you haven't got a driving license or passport on you.
And it's still shite you can't pass on a couple of tickets. I was in hospital Monday night for an op - and then it wasn't successful and stayed in and had one yesterday. Was hoping it was going to be Thursday - so Thursday night when It was apparent I was having the op Friday I made the decision not to go. What are my options then? I gave it to my son. The fact that some people think the current policy and that that ticket should go unused instead is ridiculous. At least I feel I haven't wasted my money

Needs to be a distinction made between situations like this and branch members who let their ticket go to use by people they’ve never even met.
