New Music Releases Thread


The Wedding Present have a six song EP / mini album out tomorrow called Maxi and The The have a soundtrack album out for Odyssey.

A bit late with this week's releases but there are new albums tomorrow from Anna of the North, Isobel Waller-Bridge, Melody's Echo Chamber, Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds (live), TEED (formerly Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs), Zac Brown Band, Jerkcurb, The Sha La Das and Olof Arnalds.

Well, it's fair to say that the Dove Ellis album (also out this week) lives up to the across the board magnificent reviews it's had. The Buckley comparisons are obviously valid (vocally) but this kid offers something a little different (more warmth maybe). A massive talent, probably debut of the year.

Aside from that, the final Saints album is great, the Wedding Present EP is ace (think it's all car themed), the Nick Cave live album is a gem, Melody's Echo Chamber seems a little slight, Glyders are ace (and new to me), Olof Arnalds' album is a thing of beauty and the Jerkcurb album (which was out last week) is good. Got a fair few other things to listen to, mostly things reviewed in the new Uncut.
 
Yeah actually I need the AOTY as I have been very poor at listening to new music this year. Might have to set myself a similar challenge as I did in 23 when I did a new album a week, with no excuses.

- Getting Killed - Geese (probably undoubtedly my record of the year)

I’ve had Winona Fighter recommended to me before so will definitely check that out
