Usually a good indicator of if a team's results have been luckier than their performances (and vice versa for +gd when a team is near the bottom). Pardew's Newcastle massively luckboxed a 4th or 5th finish with something like -7 IIRC. Likewise, I believe Mourinho's bad Chelsea season was connected to a lot of awful luck on the pitch and the gd reflected it. My memory is fuzzy on the details though.
 
It's hard to tell whee's whee, baldy knackers rolling about everywhere. Gateshead backroom staff getting stuck in quick, mind.
