Australia v England, 2nd Test, 4th December 0400

Compare and contrast Ben and Baz interviews.

Ben was absolutely brilliant in both ones with TNT and TMS. He was honest, humble and you really felt for him. I just wish we'd seen this for the last 2 and a half years.

As we might not be in the position we're in right now. As the cracks began with NZ away conspiring to draw 1-1. We saw it after 2-0 at home in the Ashes, we've seen it loads since.

But he's kept remaining bullish and it's bitten him on the backside. So appreciate him fronting up and admitting flaws. The fans and media have been shouting it for long enough!!!

Whereas Baz just has continued to be a clown and quadrupled down now. After doubling down in Perth he's done the same again here.

I honestly hope those blokes fight for their captain in these final 3. As he showed them today with the bat and his words how to do just that.
Agree
You can see Stokes is hurting, he battled in his innings and got Jacks to follow, unfortunately the horse has bolted
He eluded to private conversations in his interview, he needs to rattle some cages with certain individuals they are taking the piss Frankly,
As for the coach I think the pundits abs fans are seeing through it now, it just feels one big ego trip
They need to come out and get after the Aussies now, no excuses don’t think I’ve seen them pissed off once yet, in an ashes series that’s just weird, and tells its own story, they are so comfortable it’s scary

I can sort of see what he’s saying.

In football terms it would be like having pre season start at the end of July and then running the players ragged for the week before the first Saturday of the season.

Mentally and physically it’ll weaken the players. But the reason for doing so is not having the correct pre season. Which is exactly what England have done on this tour. A summer again focussed on the short ball format and too many players involved in franchise cricket.

People can go on and on about training between tests but the bowlers aren’t suddenly going to be able to handle a four or five day test match cause they have bowled long sessions in the build up to a test.

We all saw this coming. Totally underprepared.

If any cricketer can galvanize a team and make them perform more than the sum of their parts, Benjamin Andrew Stokes can 8-)

Sick of the sight of them all tbh. I did predict a 5-0 and have seen nothing to disabuse me of that opinion.

Don't forget they wrecked our county game to prepare for this tour, while also ensuring none of these players played in any long format cricket outside of test matches against Ireland (a pub side) and India (which they fumbled)

Totally unprepared for the toughest task in cricket, both physically and mentally.

It’s all been a cockup of epic proportions.
and then face the media and say they are over prepared :p, just say you have been rubbish lads and need to knuckle down.

The difference being there’s way more variables to deal with in cricket than football depending on what format you’re playing and where in the world you are, which make preparation much more important

I think what I was trying to say, it’s too late trying to prepare once the horse has bolted.

I’ve done some quick research and all of the Australians bar Khwaja and Webster have recent domestic cricket playing time. It’s also noticeable how many have played county championship too.

Compare that to England. When was the last time some of these lads played in the CC?
