Australia v England, 2nd Test, 4th December 0400

Judging from what Stokes said in that interview, I think he’s absolutely raging with Brook. Brook is his vice captain and supposed to back him up, but so far brook has been a liability.

Yes he’s got some runs but the way he plays doesn’t help the team. When he comes in it means the Aussies have taken a wicket and their tails are up, Brook needs to tire them out again.

Duckett’s got no runs either.
Duckett has credit in the bank and got a shooter this innings. And you can’t drop them all.

And at least the first team managed to avoid the innings defeat. That’s looking odds on for the A Team tomorrow. Where are these marvellous replacements who are clearly good enough coming from? It’s a very depressing time to be in England fan.

I rate Duckett like, he's one of the best openers the lads have.

I was thinking along the same lines.
Look at the talent we have in Australia right now - Prior, Cook, Vaughan, Hussain, Broad - all former captains or Ashes winners
Not necessarily in Australia. I think Vaughan in particular might show a bit more humility there. However good his own personal performances were, the only team results he participated in in live matches were two innings defeats and a defeat by nearly 400 runs. The way he bangs on you you’d think it was a piece of piss to win in Australia. He should know better.

I like to understand someones point of view, but even i'm struggling here
Brendon McCullum says England's problem was they trained too much. I've heard it all now
So why didn't they sack it off and play warm up games?.. as the old "has beens" (and my experience of watching 3 decades of test cricket says) you can do all the nets you want, nothing replaces actual game time in the middle. Brendan is coming across a bit naive here or just not admitting to making mistakes, we all make them but you have to take accountability to learn from them.

They're all over the place. I'll cut Stokes some slack as first test maybe he was in protective mode but I love it earlier when he's got his proper Ben Stokes head on and just saying it how it is. This McCullum fella has just notched the arrogance levels up even more now, he's going to get some stick again for this

Apparently Ben was quite frank in the post match interview, it must be as frustrating for him as anyone wanting to see England do well.. but as I mentioned earlier if you don't respect the greatest sport in the world it has a nasty habit of biting you on the backside.
