ID checks for away tickets

you're talking hypothetically and making up scenarios to suit your point of view. are you saying that every ticket that's being passed on is by people who are poorly within 24 hours of kick off?
Nobody is saying that. And of course you are right but life isn't that simple and all sorts of things can happen last minute to stop you going to a game. A few have happened to me and my lads over the last few years that we would never have anticipated. Generally just bad luck. The suggestion in an earlier message referencing what New^^^tle do whereby they give you three chanvces during the season seems fair to me because really they do not want the fans that have had a last minute issue, they're after the guys who are touts, who sell for inflated prices, who consistently buy tickets when they have no intention of going to the match in the first place but it maintains their points at high levels, whether they do it themselves or others do it on their behalf, they'll want to stop facebook groups etc and I doubt many people on here, the genuine fans, would have a problem with that

I've posted this before, but my relatively low points is on me, I get that.

However, I know of a dozen who were at Old Trafford who have almost no points and were definitely on others people's tickets. It happens.

I know of lads in the south who regularly attend London games who don't have season tickets.

Passing on tickets may help a mate but it doesn't help someone who wants to build their own points.

Haway the checks.

Too much common sense in that post for this thread.

People helping mates out has been going on from the time Noah put a donkey on a boat, are you saying you have never once benefited from someone’s ticket?
i did once go in the platinum club at st james on my brother in law's ticket when he was away on the rigs when the away fan ban was in place. does that count?
many years ago i missed out on a derby because a branch was using my number for someone else mind, since then i've sorted myself out.

i'm not going to brighton because i'm away that weekend, i could quite easily get a ticket and pass it on and get another loyalty point but that would be a c***s trick.
I’m a c***. You could have passed it on to me😃😃😎 on a serious note note I totally get what is happening. Having been a recipient of branch tickets myself in the past, I guess it’s just tough shit. Oh well it was good while it lasted. With regards the id thing, who the hell doesn’t have any form of id with the nowadays?

I’ve been supporting Sunderland for over 20 years I’ve been to over 40 stadiums and I go when I can to games. I can’t get a season ticket due to financial and ethical reasons. I have been there in the cold and wet in league 1, the championship and the bad years in the prem. And now they’re trying are making it difficult for people like me to go to games. This is not fair.
They are trying to make it so the loyalty system works as intended. If you buy tickets and don't attend games you shouldn't get the point

Ethical reasons?

i do agree but this 'last minute' thing seems to be a bit overegged imo.
So what you’re saying is, you have no mates
what i'm saying is that i don't abuse the system. if you think it's fine then crack on.

Can I just ask what your opposition to digital tickets is?

Not saying you're wrong by the way, or saying I think that digital should be a requirement. I'm just curious because as somebody who has my phone on me whenever I'm not in the house I prefer digital tickets for everything! One less piece of paper to lose.

My opposition is that if I cant go, then I cant pass the ticket onto my dad. Plus youre relying too much on tech which can fail

It also seems like a really odd game to start doing it, I mean who has collected enough points the last few years to then not go to city away

Is my thoughts, mate. I get up at like 4am to go to West Brom away last season, but now don't want to go to City away... Ha.

However for the "Closed shop brigade" this does not fit in with their thought process.....
