The points deduction for going into administration seems counterproductive. What purpose does it serve? Just seems to kick clubs when they’re already down.
I think it was more to stop clubs using it as a "budget measure" choice rather than a last resort.
I'm dredging this up but didn't they tighten the rules after Leicester got relegated and they chose to do it, wiped out the debts, got ride of players and resigned some on lower contracts?
Making their position in the championship infinitely better?
