Is Durham cricket club a mag place?

Don't understand why Durham mags support Durham CCC. They have already demonstrated that they have no county loyalties by supporting a football team based in Northumberland rather than the County Durham team, so why don't they support Northumberland CCC. Or did they just start supporting Durham CCC when they became a bit trendy/a first class county and had a bit of success? 🤔

Serious question

Has Durham always been riddled with mags ?

Or maybe it’s worse now with social media? Making them more visible?
I can’t believe people have to seriously ask, or think people will base who they support on a river. It’s about equal distance between both Durham and Chester Le Street to Sunderland and Newcastle, hence why there is a split in support in the same way it is in other ‘in between’ towns (e.g. South Shields).

CLS Mags are plastic fans. SAFC no doubt the loyalist of the loyal 😂

I actually know a mag from CLS and he’s anything but plastic. Been a season ticket holder for decades. Sound bloke as well and not what many on here would deem a ‘typical mag’. He enjoys a night out on the drink in Sunderland as it happens. Like anywhere, there will be both staunch and plastic black and whites and red and whites.

They didn't advertise it
I'm only through there for the cricket, I've no idea what it's like in a day there isn't a match on. Actually i think the forest game fell on a day we'd decided to go through cuz they had a food festival on so im totally lying.

Ive no idea what they advertise as im in Sunderland so wouldn't bother me arse going through but when an safc game in on tv when the cricket is on its shown and get a good crowd. Obviously nee idea about barcode games

Durham Cricket Club is impartial..........its player catchmnet area is pretty much the whole of North England from Middlesborough up to the border of Scotland............the membership will be heavily loaded with Sunderland fans though......Ben Mckinney who opens batting was once on Sunderland's books as a youngin and there are many more who ll support both Sunderland or Newcastle.
