Carlisle United

Regan Linney’s some boy. Baffling how he’s got to 28 and never played league football, he’s genuinely the most exciting player I’ve seen in a Carlisle shirt since Michael Bridges.
You've had a few great players like that over the years, deserve to be at a higher level but don't get there. You also have a history of picking up some very good players from other clubs [eg Beardsley & Bowles for two].
I hope you get one, you might get the Heed away but avoid Exeter.

No sign of Embleton, though Wearne came on as a sub. Is he injured again, or is he even still there?
Still ‘injured’ apparently, along with Robson and Wyke. Jordan Jones whereabouts unknown! The four of them costing the club around £1m a year and contributing absolutely nothing.

Jordan Jones, Ethan Robson & Charlie Wyke all released.

Stephen Wearne, Elliot Embleton & Morgan Feeney remain.

Jordan Jones made on 31 appearances in 2 years and contributed 0 goals and 0 assists.
They did very well this season in fairness. If it was any other season they’ll likely have won the league given their points tally. I think they’ll have a much better chance at autos next season, but it’ll be interesting if they keep Hughes.

Turn out for the play off semi looked healthy but Carlisle crowds are notoriously fickle even if they’d gone up so not sure about financial reward attendance wise. I think they’ll do it next time regardless of who the manager is with a leaner squad but I think Hughes will stay, if he does it’s guaranteed.
