SOL expansion

Extend both stands.

We'll be able to attract better gigs, more international games (Rugby, UEFA finals, England etc) and it'll be f***ing mint.
Issue with anything UEFA or FIFA related is the rest of the city's infrastructure, not the club. Transport connections and hotels are what they look at and we will never be able to compete with rival cities like Manchester, Leeds etc when it comes to that. Nothing stopping the FA putting more friendlies on around the country though. Rugby seems far less stringent in their requirements too.

Infrastructure is not that bad. Metro stop right at the stadium. Trains to city centre from south etc all walking distance. Car parking much easier than other cities. Airport close. Hotels are few but we now have loads of airbnb and of course the north east as a whole would be looked at in terms of hotel beds...

It's not bad but it's worse than other cities, which is what we're competing with. It's the main reason we weren't selected for Euro 28.

The Metro isn't fit for purpose
Takes ages to get one after match
I remember missing the start of the England Australia match, among with hundreds of others because the Metros were so full and infrequent.

I avoid them like the plague

A lot of St holders need investigating for reselling the amount of empty seats I see with it being sold out within minutes is odd
Is this not the re-sale websites that bought hundreds of seas tickets , it’s not individual seas tic holders selling them Match by match
Agree though the club needs to try cancel those season tickets
Would extending north stand first be the cheaper and least risk option ?

Agree with this but we should be thinking as a region too.

We have hotels 20 mins away in Newcastle and Durham.

We can host the football but there’s no need to cut our noses off to spite our face.

To be fair with the city improvements we are becoming a city that can host these big events.

The big problem is the transport links to city from but that can be easily rectified.

We have 2 airports within driving range and a large train hub nearby.
Get better links to Durham and we have thw infrastructure to do it.

Getting ahead of myself here, but if we extended the East Stand ( where I currently sit) to add more executive boxes , how would they get around the fact that you’re blinded by the sunshine on the rare occasions that it comes out.
I’m not sure having a sh!t view due to the sunshine would be a big selling point to any prospective purchasers.

Also, a lot of those sites are selling seats that either don't exist (check some of the block, row, seat combinations) or they don't actually have.

The reinstatement of the Sunderland to Durham line would be key. The station needs extra platforms to allow more train services and massive improvements to the passenger boarding areas

No one's doubting 55k could be shifted now. The uncertainty is whether that would be the case a year or two down the line
This is what I’ve been trying to put forward, I still we are riding a wave, and once it flatlines somewhat things might change.
