What's the difference if you use the Murray gates instead of Stokoe statue as your focal point? From Keel Square to the Bob Stokoe statue is 725m via the new bridge, or 1010m via Wearmouth Bridge.
That's a saving of 285m.

Seemed really busy todayJust been across new footbridge. Can't believe how quick you get from town to Sheepfolds. Looks good anarl. Really impressed with it.

Important factor is you’re not walking alongside noisy fumes ejecting traffic for most of the wayFrom Keel Square to the Bob Stokoe statue is 725m via the new bridge, or 1010m via Wearmouth Bridge.

I've said it for years but moreso now than ever we should be up there as one of the best ranked away days in the country nowadays. With probably the best approach to any ground to boot aswell. Can't be many other clubs in the country who have as many drinking establishments within walking radius of the ground as us
Yep in can be classed as a pre empire venue now tooPeople like nice things. Sheepfolds is nice, and it's a destination in itself. It'll do very well because of the bridge, it brings it into the town centre. Cutting ten mins off the walk is huge.
Yeah, I forget that people go out for food. With the new bridge open we will sometimes be having food at one of the Sheepfolds restaurants before shows at the Empire because it is now so much easier to walk between the two areas.
It's smart as out Sheepfolds. Nothing like my old school dinner hall and they serve more than Vaux.
I don’t buy food out, aren’t you listening?Someone will need to talk Herbs down off the new bridge when he pays for a pie at proppa![]()
Finally, someone who shares my hatred of cold beer. Unless you mean the sheepfolds is too cold.Wouldn’t go to the Sheepfolds during a drinking session as the beer choices are not good and always too cold.
My approach is up Roker Avenue. Not quite the same impact. That doesn't sound right.

Newcastle probably the best admittedly, and it’s one thing I used to be very jealous of walking to and from places like the dun cow or the isis at a freezing cold February game. Not so much a chore now with the new bridge. Can't be many other clubs in the country who have as many drinking establishments within walking radius of the ground as us
