Disney world Florida

Probably been asked already but I can’t be bothered to hunt the thread but what months do people usually go ?

For us it’s always been end of April into May. When was a kid we went October but I can’t remember what weather was like.

We are planning on doing it over the Feb half term, less time off school for our daughter, prices don't go silly because it's just a UK holiday and that also means the parks are still quite quiet. It should still be warm enough.

I think you're right on MK and Epcot, the latter is a superb place - something for everyone.

MK only works on a morning for me - we did a counter strategy when we last went - rope drop, but avoided big rides. We'd done about 10 things by lunchtime and the kids didn't know what had hit them, it was ace.
Yeh early is best if you want to hit many rides but our younguns are 4, 3 and 2 and a 6 month old. Was tough to get them out early doors without them being very grumpy. When we go back in a good few years hopefully be able to do more reliable starts with them being older.

We've always been last week of October + first week of November.

Very little rain and you get to see both Halloween and Christmas in the parks.
We went these two weeks last year and the weather was spectacular- only rained on our last day. We were in Epcot for Halloween where all the Americans were dressed up, next day we went early morning to MK and were stunned to see the whole park decked out for Christmas. It must be a huge overnight operation.

Ours were 5.5, but we took our 3yr old last time. The buggers wake up at 6am anyway
But it really is a good counter strategy, avoid the popular stuff - the kids don't know the difference, everything is new to them, rather than the actual new stuff that people rush for.

It is amazing how they turn it around overnight.

We're going this Friday coming, won't be going to Disney this time though, so looking forward to a bit more chilled out time.

We found the best plan for MK is to go on a day they close early. The Americans have to pay that much for their tickets that they won’t go if there’s no fireworks and early closing. A lot of the rides were walk on. It start to get busier at 4pm when people with the special event tickets are allowed to start coming in.

Another great counter plan, aye

Epcot is 100% best park. Poorer out of season when there is no festivals on but still a belter. My only minor issue with them is they could do with limiting some of the Americans booze and some clips ya see is unreal.

Funny, I'd say it's impossible to get drunk at Epcot, you're always moving. But the bar is a set a bit lower for the yanks eh?

Oh I’ve been drunk in Epcot before mind. Just some of the Americans seems to be full blotto around dinner time, which while it’s amusing isn’t the best for the park imo. Later on when it’s getting darker aye fine in my books. Midday while waiting for frozen. Nah.

It'll be fine. It was warm in January through the day. Got a bit chilly first thing in the morning and later at night.

Absolutely fine, great time to go! Disney tickets are a fortune for next year mind! Maybe drop during Black Friday, keep an eye out. We normally pay 550ish, they're 715 for next year atm!!

Won’t be 2026 regardless. Either Feb 2027 at a push, maybe 2028. I’m building Avios points to fly business. Currently on 180k, I need 360k and a companion voucher. Then it’s book 355 days in advance. Going to be tight getting the remaining points by Feb next year, it will all depend on whether the Amex BA premium card has a good welcome bonus.

Aye, there's drunk and there's "I can pretend to be sober for a few mins if needed, probably whilst I buy my next drink" drunk ;-)

f***ing hell almighty.
That's £3500 for us just for Disney. No way I'm doing that!

You could buy Avios when they offer good offers - or use the option to boost them after you fly, that could help?

Kind of defeats the point of converting points to reduce plane tickets if you have just bought the points anyway. Based on current predictions with the way my side hustle is going that’s collecting them I will be on 330k by early Feb. So about 30k short. The Christmas rush will be critical. If I can’t then buying or boosting might work out.

We went in Jan 2018. It wasn’t warm everyday, one day we were at Universal there was real ice in Diagon Ally. The staff were saying it’s the coldest they had had it years. We had to wait until about 11am for it to be warm enough for Hulk to run. Park was very quiet though.
