Very good finish yesterday, no-one can say otherwise...and appears to have hit the ground running, still long way to go to justify a £70m price tag.

It wasn't the other centre half. For some bizarre reason they marked him with their fairly small left winger! The kid from West Brom.

I thought he was a good prospect when watching the U21's tournament. Has started a lot better than expected and is likely to improve.

Bayern made a lot about them overpaying but he is knocking them in despite them struggling to match their form of last year. Looks a very good player unfortunately.

They are vulnerable to losing him to injury while Wissa is also out mind.

Early days so can he be consistent or is it an early purple patch? I'm still not convinced and think this current streak will dry up a bit.

Brighton did it yesterday and how this even happened is beyond me 🤪 Surely you'd have someone on him who can challenge him for the ball/header, not one of the smallest on the pitch.

This wasted header is why I'm still not convinced on Woltermade. He gets away with ease but then skies the header and I've seen him miss or fluff up some of his chances. It's as if he was going for the spectacular header rather than placing it. Maybe he should have stuck a shoulder on it instead 😉

Checked my phone whilst walking back to the car after the match yesterday and noticed that I'd received the below message at 16:42 on WhatsApp from a maggot with whom I used to work with back in the day....

I politely reminded him of the final score at the AMEX, that football is a game played over 90+ minutes and wished him Welbeck.... Strangely said maggot hasn't got back to me

I can only assume that in order to make the network more reliable, O2 will be starting essential works in the DL14 area which may affect services for a while, not ideal, but I'm sure he'll be back online by the time the barcodes next win another game of football
 
Reminds me of Kanu actually in his style of play. They'll have a problem fitting him and Wissa into their system though.

It's a shame they didn't sign Strand Larsen instead as he was apparently their biggest target and he was poor yesterday.

Started well for them and seems to know where to be around the box. Sign of a decent striker. Doesn’t seem to do much else, but I suppose “all he does is score goals” is damned with faint praise for a £70 million pound fee. Be interesting to see how he gets on as the season progresses and some of the more physical defenders suss him.

I can kind of understand it if they mostly go zonal and then just mark him as a back up. Personally I would put my best defenders on the likes of him and Burn as they are both a real threat for Wimbletoon.
