County Championship Reduction For 2026?

Yeh,and that was 50+ years ago when transport links were far inferior and they played 20 CC games, albeit of 3 days duration. The season was virtually May to August in effect a 20 week season whereas we now have a 26 week season. So we now have an elongated season with far fewer days of cricket. 4 domestic tournaments is unprecedented in the modern era.- not like you to be pedantic 😀
No doubt it was stressful and no doubt still is but players were approached about the issue rather than taking issue themselves. ECB propaganda to undermine the CC and further promote their Godchild the Hundred.
Personally I don't have an issue with a reduced CC if it allows a full commitment and marketing of domestic 1Day and T20 cricket.
The NatWest and b a h was a knockout cup.

B and h 4 group games....

To get to the final then you played less games then in both cups, than the group games alone today.

Crowds in the 100 are sell outs crowds at county t20 are down 25%.

Without the 100 4 counties would go bust this year.

The 400 grand they are getting is not developing or signing players or upgrading grounds it's to pay off the debts.

You OK,Pinochio?
You forgot to mention the John Player League
Hundred crowds are not sell qouts
No Counties would go bust if ECB monies were allocated evenly
Counties were promised £27m not £400k from the Hundred sale.

Yes the 4 competitions..county championship Sunday league b and h and NatWest.

3 counties have already said they wouldn't exist without the 100 money.

Leicester derby and Sussex.

So get your facts right.

The 400 grand is obviously after the 27 million is split up between the 18 counties etc etc.

Doesnt anybody actually listen or watch cricket documentaries don't you listen to the lunchtime interviews on youTube on lunch breaks etc.

You don't realize how even Surrey are in trouble and the 100 is saving them.

You dislike the 100 because it's exciting and fills the grounds and every game was sold out.

You don't like the fact how t20 crowds officially are down 25% over the 18 counties.

Do you not read anything about the state of the game.???

Google some facts watch in YouTube interviews with people running counties.

The facts are there.

Watch the YouTube interview with the Essex CEO last week about how the 100 money has saved them.

I've read current cricket financial facts-from the Cricketer magazine(May) in which the writer had carried out extensive research. The problems arise because central income isn't shared equally.

I think you need to get your facts right them 3 counties would struggle without the hundred money.

However the 20 odd million you talk about is per county.

That is why the counties above are glad they getting it.

Not 400k after it is spilt.

20 odd million is what each county will get the 400k is what they have been given to start off with.

Surprised you don’t know that?

I was fully aware of that promise but only £400k has materialised.
They aren't my facts. I wish you well but I have no desire to engage in petty arguments with sarcasm being the lowest form of wit -I prefer a reasoned discussion backed by fact.
I refer you to the facts arising from Cricketer research outlined in my post #213.
I did ask you to respond when originally posted.

"There is also a feeling among the Professional Game Group, who are running the process, that postponement will give them the best chance of securing the 12 votes required to introduce a new structure next season".

They just won't give up till they get the outcome they want.

Interesting that Surrey's players voted 31-0 in favour of retaining the current 14 game season.
