Yup, I know it was my late FiL's "thing" On the incredibly rare occasion we had champagne at a family function he would declare, quite loudly, "It's Moh-ETT, NOT Mow-AY!!!"

Poor old Patrick Stewart will be well aware that he’s supposed to be playing a proud French man who in every way possible, the American script writers make sound as English as possible, except for the pronunciation of a word derived from the Old French ‘rute’ (road)

Also the pronunciation! On "stand & stir" telly programmes it's "Meeshla" or "Meeshlan". Pop into your local tyre emporium & ask for a set of "Meeshlan's" & you'll get a look...
 
When someone is ringing from inside a car on hands free and volume is on full blast and you can hear the rings for ages when they don't answer and also the convo when they do answer from quite far away

It's never an interesting conversation either. All I've learned from the encounter is the Chelsea tractor is rinsing them monthly on PCP and the occupant is a tit.
