Done well to stick it out for so long.
Why can't the groundstaff be continually be removing water from the covers? Surely this would save time if and when play gets the go ahead.

I was amazed as well as even an hour's play would have been better than nothing. At 3pm in CLS the sun was out and a good drying wind had got up. Its now 4.30pm and there hasn't been a drop of rain since.

Club probably reckon Somerset spinners will steam-roller Hants and we have a better chance playing for a draw and bonus points.
Hampshire have signed Washington Sundar for the final two games. Expect they’ll prepare an absolute bunsen for their final game against Surrey, who’s only weakness is their lack of a decent spinner.
